Sweet, yet dim, Meghan writes today:
The necklace from Sweet Tooth Designs is something I’d actually wear. So often geek jewelry is too bold and obnoxious. This little necklace is understated, classy, and expressed that three letter word in only two keystrokes. Me likey!
Huh? What three-letter word? Does she mean LOVE? HEART? Perhaps she needs to revisit this post.
*Stupid Blogger will not depict the symbols properly in <3 in the text above when it is in blockquotes. Sorry.
Even in print, that symbol has always looked vaguely pornographic to me.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't want to wear it around my neck.
The girl is brain dead <3 is heart
ReplyDeleteluv?
ReplyDeleteIf she really thinks "luv" is spelled "love," well then I can see she truly deserves that degree from USC. How craptastic.
ReplyDeleteOOPS... "love" = luv... anyway, you know what I mean.
ReplyDeleteUm...USC isn't exactly anything to sneeze at. Just because this mentally challenged fool went there (probably because her rich father pulled strings) hardly makes it some joke of a school. It's not like she went to some no name borderline community college in Jersey that nobody has heard of.
ReplyDeleteNow i get it!! Whenever i see that symbol i am completely baffled as to what the writer is trying to say. It looks nothing like a heart (it does somewhat on the necklace, but methinks they tweaked it).
ReplyDeleteI imagine a scan of her brainwaves would look suspiciously like a kitty swatting at yarn.
ReplyDeleteDaisy that is an insult to Kittens everywhere :)
ReplyDeleteSo why is valleywag not covering the girls anymore?
ReplyDeleteOh my sweet Hello Kitty Asha Parikh,
ReplyDeleteYes, she did go to USC, she's probably pretty "book smart", but based on her writings, she's not really showing any common sense or for that matter any taste! I don't even think a quirky East Village hipster would find that junk attractive.
@Beth Cooper: :)
ReplyDeleteWeb20Morons, she's probably trying to imagine what would appeal to her ideal reader, but has no frame of reference.
Actually, I'm starting to believe that when founding NS JA just wrote down some random words on strips of paper, tossed them in an empty cupcake box and made the other two girls have a little drawing to find out what their new "interests" would be. Sure, it's unfortunate that Meghan drew "vapidness" and "technology", but Mary got the worse end of the deal with "hair" and "colonics."
Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure that's how JA composes her columns.
I'm pretty sure she meant "I Love You"...3 words in 2 keystrokes < 3...not 3 letters. PROOFREAD YOU DIMBULB.
ReplyDeleteah poor JA had to walk home as there were no cabs,,
ReplyDeleteMost others would say reserve a cab..
Let me get this straight. She's covering Fashion Week...without taking any photos of the actual FASHION? Something's up. Are we sure she was at the actual show and not just wandering around the tents before hand?
ReplyDeletemaybe her press badge from TONY broke?
ReplyDeleteor maybe TONY canned her?
Beth,
ReplyDeleteValleywag should have no reason to cover these twits. It was self generated buzz by JA with a little help from Denton. With the downsizing of VW plus the obvious disdain Owen Thomas has for the fameballs I doubt seriously there will be significant future coverage.
Ok, as much as I hate the whole pour over her archives thing, I just went through JA's blog up til Feb 6th.
ReplyDeleteCorrect me if I'm wrong, and I may be, but she never says she's covering the show for TONY. She's says she's going, but she doesn't mention TONY. Or did she?
Something is up with this total lack of actual coverage.
Whoops. Scratch That. She does mention TONY here:

But no where after that.
Hmmmmmm............
So that's what that symbol means. I always thought it was some sex thing.
ReplyDeleteMeghan is definitely dim. It's amusing when she tries to mimic what a successful blogger would write.
I love that Jankles has those posts of the fashion shows with captions like "Front row at Charlotte Ronson." It make it look like she had front seats when she just simply took a picture of the people in the front row.
ReplyDeleteI think it's important to give the context of the "Me likey" emoticon necklace post. It immediately preceded this Deep Thought:
ReplyDelete"I think one of the main goals [of feminism] should be to work on achieving economic and political equality."
Me likey, indeed. Consider economic and political equality checked off womankind's collective to-do list!
Rachel D: What the fuck? That is like the stereotypical Miss America answer: "I support world peace."
ReplyDeleteHow do I spellz luv?
ReplyDelete¯\(°_o)/¯
Meghan makes me wince.
ReplyDelete>.<
No love for the heart-dong, Megs?
<3===D
And such as, Meghan = Miss South Carolina.

Isn't it actually three keystrokes, since you have to hit the SHIFT button and then the comma key.
ReplyDeleteIt's more efficient to write 'love', because who even remembers where that triangular bracket is without having to look for it?
Meghan may be dumb, but Mary just posted a series of videos of the two of them at some mid-afternoon party last weekend and it slightly melted my stone-cold heart. Megs has a couple of drinks and starts dancing like a maniac. They seem to really like each other, those two, and they go out and have fun in ways that don't involve posing for photos and doing the Blue Steel face endlessly.
ReplyDeleteThey just seem so much more sane and genuine and normal to me than their deranged frenemy.
They have got to cut that hag loose.
Hey! NS looks different now - has a white band of advertising running along the bottom and the pics etc are smaller...or has it been like this for a while?
