Mary Rambin, continued.

Both Jezebel (which we're a bit sad about; NS invades the Jez) and The Frisky picked up on Mary Rambin's nonsensical Botox rant. But you know what makes us sad? That Mary Rambin is not intelligent enough to recognize what an idiot she is or to understand the various arguments against her.

  1. It's getting crazy, eh?

I don't think we should be sad; we should be smart about it. She said these things; she is not the victim. Invading Jezebel is OK because it's on their bad side...I just feel like the backlash is getting too big to even AT ALL help them...page views or not, they've sealed their fate.

  2. Yeah, I agree. I have actually been waiting for Jezebel to pick this up. Screw the page views NS might get, this is just all-out ridiculous material, and it needs to be skewered. Notice how much room Dodai gave it on the page. hah!

  3. Do they just make deliberately outrageous and stupid comments for the inevitable ensuing publicity? I''m starting to wonder if that isn't their (maybe not so) secret marketing strategy?

  4. I'm sure they were banking on this strategy of "more page views at any cost" marketing, but I feel the bad feelings have reached a tipping point. I suspect that Julia may very well be ok with letting this venture crash and burn in the not too distant future and use it for her own screenplay/memoir purposes.

  5. Again, I think the explanation is the simplest one. In order to get free Botox (because egad, her forhead actually MOVES!) Mary had to film the procedure and promise Dr. Bobby it would air somewhere online. So, knowing it was going to be viewed soon, she tried to pre-empt criticism of her superficiality, vanity, destructive body image, etc. by writing that "deep thoughts by Mary" piece. FAIL

  6. Jez is usually very good about ignoring the silliness that is NS, but they will on very rare occasion acknowledge their existence (the other instance was the Carrie 2.0 article in the NYT) and the seasoned commenters will beg and plead for no more posts on them, and the newer ones will question whether these three are actually real.

To paraphrase Jim from The Office: they are very, very real.

  7. Too bad Dr. Bobby doesn't know that any association with the 3 Stooges is toxic and instead of sending viewers to him, will put him on most people's "DO NOT" list.

I also think it's not the best medical practice that he not only injected Restylane into the face of then-25 y.o., but pushed her into it by telling her that her nasolabial folds were so very deep.

  8. Anon 5:48, that is exactly what's going to happen. Now JA will try to craft a career on being an Internet victim of "haters." "Mean anonymous people wrecked my business and tried to ruin my life, and I lived to write this shitty piece about it!"

    Wait for it. It's guaranteed.
