RB: Julia, Jan 17, 1:11am

Julia has really evolved. No repeats of that Jakob and Julia stuff. Here, she shares her new governing philosophy on dating and blogging:

Conversation with Date Tonight. It was our 2nd, and I was home by 11:30, sharp! (Thanks to Matchmaker Amy Laurent. Nice work, Amy!)

FYI, Current Policy on Romantic Disclosures: 1) No names or identifying information will be disclosed without prior written (email/text) approval. 2) I reserve the right not to tell you about dates who request that I tell you nothing. and 3) I’ll think of this one later.

The gentleman I dated last summer/fall asked me to keep him off the blog entirely - not even the vaguest of vague mentions, and I kept my word until we ended things (and he gave me permission to explain the situation). We’re good friends, so I think I handled things well - and he agrees.

Actually, I haven’t had a problem with any guy getting upset about anything I’ve written here in a long, long, long time (almost a year). The weird thing is, it’s the readers (who aren’t involved!) who get upset about it, preemptively, on the dude’s behalf. This is just a friendly note to let you know that I gots the sitch under control, yos. :)

  1. So there, all you meanies. See--some guy actually likes her, and is pursuing her, so quit suggesting otherwise. And she is principled, too, she will have you (or at least the bunnikins set) know. Nice, I tell you, nice. Except when she is using that iPhone to undermine, say, her friend Rachel Sklar.

  2. "Until we ended things." She means when HE ended things when she finally couldn't stop herself and tipped Gawker off to their romance since she wasn't allowed to blog it and DESPERATELY wanted it out there.

  3. I feel bad in advance for this guy. He's going to get burned. He must be the one she was getting ready for a date for "while thinking of someone else". Someday, she'll use him for the same crap drama that is her life. Someday? She already is.

  4. her "principles" boggle me.

didn't she backpost, just the other day, to her college diary (found the link: http://julia.nonsociety.com/post/23791128) about how her retarded "principles" made her feel hollow, empty and basically like a whore??

how can she be incredulous about staying over after just admitting that saying no over and over makes her feel empty?

and why does she assume that she'd have to "violate her principles" if she stayed over? (am I the only one who has "stayed over" with a guy without having sex?)

perhaps most importantly, is this one of the guys she tweeted about having a terrible date with? why does she bother to flirt with a guy she has literally no interest in?

    WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN??

  5. I feel sad for the one with the face of a clown. She cannot find a man, she drives away the ones who seem to like her and pudgy fingers only get fatter as you age, not smaller.

  6. Anonymous 8:36: Yup, he must be the guy, and since Her Twatness Twittered to Ben Leventhal immediately before that Twitter about thinking of another guy, the Dyspeptic money is going on Julia Allison still crushing on the maddeningly elusive Mr. Leventhal. Who may have just escaped with his life and sanity intact, although they are "very good friends," she'll have you know.

Now, just for fun: anyone care to speculate on the extreme cognitive dissonance of a guy who spends all day and part of the night thinking about/editing/covering food and restaurants for his Web site, Eater NY (http://eater.com/), dating a woman with extreme food issues who always seems to be within a hair's breadth of binging and purging again????? Not to mention her continued protestations that she never drinks any wine. Those must have been some miiighty peculiar dinner dates.

  7. She's referring to Leventhal and she so totally did not abide by his request to keep her mouth shut. She mentioned multiple times in the TMI clips that she was dating someone, what nightgown she wore for him, how she spilled her wine on a date, etc. He was also the one who inspired her obnoxious crusades about a) which apartment you crash at more - yours or your signif. others and getting invited to your signif. other's home for the holidays.

She blogged endlessly about both, used both topics as subjects for TMI episodes, created multiple fake e-mails that supported her stance and posted them on her blog and all around just publicly harassed him in an attempt to get him to commit.

His reason for not wanting her to go public with the relationship was probably two fold. One, he's a guy and doesn't like the idea of being dissected on a public blog. Two, he possible didn't want anybody knowing he was involved with her because he knew there was a stigma attached to it. With all of that in mind, I'd gather that he was never all that invested in the "relationship" and was more in it for the sex. It sounds like he saw her when he felt like it, on his timetable, when/where it was convenient for him.

  8. Side note...she also says she's "good friends" with Charles Forman. Forman loathes Julia. My friend went out with Forman on a date* and he was more than willing to toss around the "c" word when speaking of JA. Gawker mentioned that Julia left an Xmas party in tears due to a run in with Leventhal. They're not good friends. He may not tell her to her face to leave him alone, but I'm doubting he thinks fondly of her. He cut her off because she wanted a relationship and he didn't. Not with her, at least. But he'll be pleasant to her so that he can send her booty text requests at 1am.

*Yes, this a real story and not one of those fake ones people make up to sound like they have dirt. One of the few things I'll agree with JA on is that Forman is a whiny bitch.

  9. Lauren: for awhile after Leventhal broke up with Julia Allison, I was amused to notice she was Twittering about restaurants to him in an attempt to engage his attention. Like, "you should be covering this THAT way," was the unwritten subtext. Riiight, Ms. Food Issues of 2008. Next she'll be posting one-visit "restaurant reviews" like Mary "Cleanse my Colon" Rambin.

  10. Actually the "c word" seems to apply rather nicely to Mr. Charles Forman himself. Diamond cut diamond.

  11. you know whats funny, i bet she actually thinks that this convo made him (and her)look good.

  12. Here's the subtext of this conversation.

He likes her. She's not into him. They depart at 11 and he's already IMing her an hour later? Needy much? This is the guy she had dinner with around New Years. She's including it so she can make Leventhal jealous. Seriously, grow up. He's not even reading your stupid blog.

  13. So much of what Julia Allison posts on NonSociety seems to be an attempt to remind exes of what they're missing (cough) that it is actually a little...sad.

  14. What guy in his right mind would want a relationship with her? Even if he never finds out her last name or her "career," she is a loud and abrasive creature who doesn't truly care about anyone else, unless they can do something for her. Now.

  15. who is Leventhal, if you don't mind me asking?

  16. He is the editor in chief of Eater, the New York food-blogging website. http://eater.com/
