  1. May I just say a robust "thank you RBNS" for drawing attention to the inconsistencies and bs of the NS "live differently" travesty while at the same time providing a lively enough blog in its own right that I never have to actually go to that sorry place (unless I choose to occasionally out of some kind of self-hate I must be deeply harbouring! or ... reminder that all is not lost, so many of us aren't "them"). This is so great. For reals.

8:44 PM Which one of you is responsible for this:

  3. At least Owen kind of spells out Tumblr's professional relationship with Jackles: they are using NS to testdrive a new revenue-generating (Ha! Good luck with that! LJ pro anyone?) format for paying, professional users.

In Tumblr's new TOS (or the other thing) didn't it say that users aren't allowed to "harass" or reblog or "certain users?" I'm guessing that the paying users will become those who will be able to blog free from criticism and free users will get deleted willy-nilly just for mentioning one of the paying blogs.

Oh man, Tumblr is going down if that is the case. Can you say dumbest business model idea ever, Karp?

  4. Mary keeps logging into the mogulus site every so often, at least. They are up to 30 viewers right now. I cannot believe Julia just flaked on Fashion Week. Of all things. It will be the last time she's invited.

  5. anon 8:59, it was someone here, its in the comments of an older post.

the whole david karp as julia's sugar daddy is funny except are there cases where the sugar daddy is 6 years YOUNGER than the girl?

the graduate meets the sugar daddy?

  6. Anon 9:16: I don't think she's ever been "invited" per se. She is using the press credentials of TONY. I believe it's a symbiotic relationship. They pay her minimum scale to act like an exibitionist for the sake of notoriety; she does it. Except now she's flaking out on even that. It's about the last vestige of legitimate cred she has. It she blows this; what has she got left? In her own words, "the lowest of the low ... blogger." (As she brayed when she was picking up a very tenuous "press" pass at CES.)

  7. My favorite comment from the Gawker post:
    http://misterhippity.tumblr.com/post/79153107/david-that-trainwrecks-blog-is-still-making-fun

Also I have to post a link to this video. Watching the seamless transition in and out of the rehearsed poses, including the Kissy Face, is just too much.

  8. Ineff - That video is truly a great find. It's like she thinks she's on the red carpet, except that Julia is only Internet famous...barely.

  9. Note to Arianna Huffington: Julia Baugher interviews Tina Brown and manages to simultaneously dis you and "fluff" herself, using your name.
She (JAB) says something along the lines of "ooooh Tina, your blog is SO great, SO much better than AH's (which I wrote for btw), but I like you better. Way to burn another bridge JAB and ooops, Tina was racing to get away. No time to put on a party hat and get a kissy picture.

  12. So...wait...does this mean a 22-year-old programmer may not have the business sense of Warren Buffett?

  13. Bunny, why aren't you going to the oscars? Mary knows all about seat-warming, for, what did she call them, oh yeah, random celebrities.

  14. That email to Gawker is a classic. So unintentionally hilarious, i-words and all. Our Jules. You really COULD not write this stuff. But as a John Waters screenplay, I think it has potential.
