This should be
interesting. Jackles must be beside herself with glee. I am sure she's already digging through her photo archives, ready to send him some shots for inclusion in which she looks ZOMG so skinny and hot in her pink ski pants!!!! ZOMG!!!
Let us not forget this subtle
hatchet job she did on him. Maybe he'll return the favor and write something nasty about her. If he's smart, he'll make no mention of her. That would drive her craziest of all.
Here is the twitter version of what one can learn from his memoirs:
ReplyDelete"Think with the brain, not with the peen."
ZOMG, bunnies, you know what amazing idea I just came up with independent of everything else going on in the world? I'm going to write a MEMOIR! It'll be all about MY inspirations and MY special leadership tips!
ReplyDeletePlus I will conveniently have to write it in Chicago for the summer at Mummy and Daddy's DOWNTOWN CONDO! Yay.com!
I'm confused. Was this congressman married/taken when they dated? If so, how was his significant other blind to this happening? Or did he divorce/break up with whoever this woman might me?
ReplyDeleteShe coulda been Obama's speechwriter! She dated a real live politician! Now she's stalking John McCain's daughter on twitter.
ReplyDeleteMy how the mighty pink cupcake has fallen.
Harold Ford was single when they dated.

ReplyDeleteIt was Alex who was still married when he began dating Julia.
ReplyDeleteAllison, I expect you to keep up better than this!
ReplyDelete"Interestingly, he’s done a pretty good job of keeping his relationship with Emily Threlkeld private. Its not that people didn’t know about her, its just that there has been virtually no gossip about their relationship and they’ve been dating three years!"

She'll be too busy sobbing to think about a possible mention in his memoir (which I don't think will happen, anyway).
Sorry! I knew about Alex being married, but a fellow reader once told me that the congressman was also married, so I was just clarifying.
ReplyDeleteGood timing with her sychophating McCain!

I am the very last person to defend Julia, but the only negative thing she said about him (in that piece, at least) was that he was a bad skier.
ReplyDeleteStill, she negatively affected his career, as any association with her is wont to do, but I'll bet he'll be magnanimous.*
*note correct usage of the word.
She looks fat.
ReplyDeleteWhat in God's name is up with those rabbit teeth?
ReplyDeleteI think her old writing is actually pretty decent and is real content- I think should should get back to that. I enjoy reading it.
ReplyDelete* she should
ReplyDeleteEm, er, Julia, Yep, that early empurpled prose is the stuff that savvy eighth graders are made of. How could it have all gone downhill so quickly. Off to watch Gossip Girl! Ta ta!
ReplyDeleteAnon @ 10:10, she's the one who decided that it would be a good idea to tip off the media about their prior relationship while he was running for U.S. Senator.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2006/11/harold-fords-ex-finds-fame-on-the-web.phpher pathetic rationalizationhttp://www.mediabistro.com/articles/cache/a10131.asp - "Brand Allison ramped up in the summer of 2006. That July, Allison wrote about her undergraduate relationship with representative Harold Ford for Cosmopolitan. He wasn't named, but Allison let everyone in the media know it was Ford. The timing couldn't have been worse for the Tennessee politician. He was trying to become the first black senator elected from the South since Reconstruction. The timing couldn't have been better for Allison. Shortly after, she upgraded her dating column from AM New York to Time Out New York."

Mrs. Ford seems by all accounts refined, attractive and talented. That must really burn.
ReplyDeleteFor a gal who was still in college and supposedly quite hot to trot with the fellas back then, she sure looks like your average frumpy soccer mom in that skiing photo. The goofy pink pants and mousy brown hair aren't helping things.
ReplyDeleteThat photo pre rhinoplasty and dental work, right?
ReplyDeleteAnon @ 8:59 is right about how frumpy she looked there. Just what did Harold Ford see in her?
Julia Allison might be the first person ever to sue the author of a book because she wasn't mentioned in his book. "But I damaged his career, people. Give a girl some credit!"
ReplyDeleteSo I just read her cosmo article and it was the most boring, hard to read piece I've slogged through in a while. How the fuck did that get published? I don't really read cosmo, but if this is indicative of the type of crap in that magazine then I'm not missing much.
ReplyDeleteOh partypants how you make me cry with laughter.
