Julia: An Outfit That Isn't That Bad

Hi everyone! What's been going on in here tonight? Anything? No? Me? I've just been hanging around the cafeteria with Regina and Gretchen and the gang, boning up on Web celebrities whose names contain the letter V and concocting further diabolical censorship plans.

I think I must be drinking whatever everyone else is drinking tonight because I actually like this outfit. Shoes are not great, but the dress is cute and so is the little demi-blouse.

  1. I really like that outfit too.

  2. This is an excellent example of how opinions differ, because I hated this one. In that other photo (with the three of them on the couch) the outfit wasn't flattering at all, in my opinion.

  3. I, too, am a fan of this ensemble.

It looks kind of June Carter Cash, in a good way.

I just checked that photo out. It's definitely more flattering when standing. The wide waist band is hard to carry off when seated.

    Well-played, Jacy.

  6. OMG - dead wrong in my book. That outfit is atrocious. Skirts pulled up that high don't look great unless they are more fitted through the bodice, and it looks wrinkled. I think she looks dumpy.

  7. I think the major difference between the outfit pictured seated, and that pictured standing, is the bow. Sitting, the bow is...ummm, of the bow persuasion, but standing, it's loose.

I think the line of the loose ribbon is elongating and flattering. I would wear this.

  8. I just find it refreshing not to see the push-up bra-enhanced hooters in our faces for a change.

  9. Is it a skirt pushed up or a dress with some kind of mom-blouse over it? I guess the blouse is my main problem, although unlike most of her outfits I sort of see what she was going for.

  10. This is an example of a grown up feminine/girly ensemble. I wish she'd go more in this direction. Also, no head band!

Is it just me, or does Mary look like Sarah Connor (as played by Linda Hamilton) in this shot? Look out JA-1000!

  12. I'm reposting this because I think it got lost amid all the hubub in the last thread:

Mary's mom is selling this Dries Van Noten dress as "never worn". http://designeraccessoriesforless.tumblr.com/post/89939547/left-to-right-balenciaga-size-small-125

Weird. This must be a different dress Mary wore at their latest TMI taping: http://julia.nonsociety.com/lifecast/95043524-0-2

    ReplyDelete
  13. I think borrowing a dress for a taping might still make it considered "never worn" but I'm not sure.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Saying its "never worn" after Mary has worn it for a day to tape TMI seems like a blatant lie to me if we're using the plain meaning of the words.

Maybe there's some different meaning in the resale industry that I'm not aware of.

  15. The green top Megan is wearing in that photo is also being sold as "never worn"

  16. Perfect example of an "outfit" women find attractive, but reminds men of their grandmothers.

  17. I disagree. This outfit is wrong wrong wrong. The colors are so off for her skin tone. Particularly the top, which she tried (mistakenly) to match to her skirt and the combination is completely washing her out. There's also the issue of the print, which is hard enough to pull off in real life, and nearly impossible to pull off on camera.

    Grade: C-

  18. The outfit JA is wearing can also be found on Mary's mother's site: http://designeraccessoriesforless.tumblr.com/post/89939426/left-to-right-john-galliano-size-2-390

    It's a Size 10 DVF

    ReplyDelete
  19. Ugh. No. I do not like JA's outfit at all. I'm usually a fan of a 1950's style, as long as it has a sexy/sassy edge to it. JA's outfit looks like she's waiting for her dear husband to arrive home so can she mix a martini for him and then they can passive aggressively insult each other.

Also, I hope she's getting some sleep. It's the number one beauty aid, and not just in one night doses! I think we should start a JA help fund to send her off to an ashram for a month or something. She just looks worn out.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Actually the blouse she's wearing is the galliano, size two. The DVF is the wrap top, green in the middle, and meghan must have "clipped" it with clothes pins in the back which is normal for TV.

  21. It was more Heathers than Mean Girls. Sharp and cutting, and more than a little spot on.

When the commenters start to resemble the object of the site's derision, there will be feedback.

And Jacy, I know you see it, too. That is why your name is one the sidebar and certain aspiring commenters' names aren't.

  22. uuugh. no no no. i don't like this outfit AT ALL. the skirt isn't soo bad. it's the top i can't stand. way too busy and flowy for her figure. but at least she's a bit more covered up top.

  23. mmmm nope...xoxo otherwise

  24. Anon 1:06: zzzzzz. Snoozefest. No one cares.

    ReplyDelete
  25. So...this is how you respond to criticism that you suck at running this hate site? Posting about how much you like the outfit of the object of hate? Cuts to the quick!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Weirdly, I know someone at Google, and they told me that people do care and want me to keep rattling the cage on this.

    See how stupid that sounds?

    ReplyDelete
  27. The last thing you want to do with big hips/lower half is accentuate with a skirt like this. Not a fan.

Why don't you fucking losers pick handles for yourselves so we know which one of you are deciding to be demented losers again today?

Better yet, take a page from RBNS and start up a blog pissing all over this blog. You'll spare all the rest of us the tedium of your existences.

  29. FGE -- indeed, it would be nice to sort out which one is Nitwit A and which one is Nitwit B. For now they are blending together a little too much. The affect would be much better if we could differentiate which Nitwit was which.

  30. FormerGawk, I'm sure you recognize some of the trolls.

I do. It's not hard to recognize the elitist tone.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I didn't like this outfit, but I did like the blue dress she was wearing.

  33. But I thought it was only one troll! And it was Julia!

No, there are lots of trolls....

    trolls named anonymous!

loved Former Gawker's advice to identify ourselves,

    hmmm, from Gawker to rbns...yeah.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Do you actually think Alex Balk or someone who wrote for Gawker is here? It's probably a sad little ad sales wannabe, if he even worked at Gawker at all.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Ah, conceit expressed against the insignificant little people. Only "on air" personal counts? So refreshing and telling. Keep it classy.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Nick Denton doesn't want Gawker covering her anymore unless it's to ruthlessly mock her. Where else do you suppose they're getting their fix? Baugher and here.

Mock this site all you like, but people like Sklar, Sorgatz and Gould are involved. I just haven't determined yet whether they're actually writing it or tipping it.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hahaha. Yeah, right. I don't care for any of those people, but there's no way they're writing it. They all have some editorial experience. As for tipping: what was the last "insider" news you heard here?

    ReplyDelete
  39. It's a site meant to mock and ridicule her, that's all. There is no interest by the people running it in airing all the dirt. There is a ridiculous amount of dirt, but they are content in the knowledge that she will get it all out there herself, and then the mocking begins. Because she will. She's already working on a major scam to get herself more attention.

    ReplyDelete
  40. There is a lot of dirt and a lot of confirmed tips. Tips are frequently turned down with grace and thanks by the writers of this site because they don't want to ruin the reputations nor embarrass many of the "associates" that would have to be named in order to tell those stories. Get it?
*I do not write for this site but I have tipped. And what I posted above is a summary of what I was told in response.
