Julia: Faking It ... Again?

A commenter who was in attendance at Jackles's MIT ZOMG ZOMG speech the other night reports:

"the pictures above are totally staged. she gave her entire talk sitting down at a table. she took a few pictures sitting down after the talk pretending like she was lecturing. after that, she left. my guess is that she actually went through the trouble of coming back to the room to take pictures of her "lecturing" from the podium. so, like everything else she does, the pictures were fake..."

I am beginning to think that Jackles is a comedy act. Imagine actually doing that seriously? Posing at a podium after your presentation and pretending to talk to the crowd in your silly ass-baring figure-skater outfit? It has to be a joke, doesn't it?

If not, and it's true these photos were staged, poor Jackles is even more mentally unwell than any of us have ever imagined.

  1. Jules wasn't fake posing after her presentation was over, she was just STRETCHING and MASSAGING the timeline of her speech.

  2. This is hysterical and sad. And for the first time I wonder if Julia is legitimately mentally ill.

  3. She's Norma Desmond right? She used to be big.

  8. Reposting this from the other thread since I saw it and just read it.. pwnage from the cute web guy, he still makes the same valid points even with the minimally broken english!

Too small to shelter even a hiding Munchkin!

  10. The hand-chop, Bill Clinton-espque pose in one picture. The two-handed frame pose, as if caught in the middle of a lengthy explanation to some curious questioner, in the other. Both snapped as she "spoke."

This, and those late-night videoa where she gives a monologue complete with dramatic changes in her eye direction, and the set of her expression, it goes beyond acting. And I'm sure that's how she'd defend it - as no different than watching a ballerina stretch out back stage, or seeing a local tv reporter do those ocntext shgots where they pretnd to be interviewing, just to establish their presence at the interview. That this is seeing how the sausage was made, so to speak.

But this goes beyond that. There truly is a disturbing elelemnt to being all alone in you apartment, talking to yourself as if being interviewed. Or playing dress-up and staging a speech you give in the weays you want it to have happened - not the actual way it happened, the way you wanted it to happen.

This isn';t just the behind the scenes sausage making. This is watching someone truly fall out of contact with reality.

  11. Twitter restraining orders!

  12. Yes, people who routinely stand in their apartments video-taping themselves while blabbing on about their loser lives truly creep me out. And they always turn out to be the craziest people you've ever met.

  13. .. instead of writing something interesting about the MIT innovation club (as dorky as that sounds it is MIT for crissakes. I bet there was one interesting person or idea there). she took additional time to re-create her lecture in a way that she felt was what? more flattering? More focussed on the one truly interesting thing at MIT this day: herself.

    ReplyDelete
  14. And Julia now tells us per her lifestream that her brain is MUSH because MIT was so incredibly stimulating. Instead of taking fauxny photos of yourself, Jules, why not tell us what you learned? I see you quoted something with no analysis and that somes up your MIT experience. NONCONTENT SOCIETY strikes again.

  15. PP--Jackles is still big, dammit. It's the podiums that got smaller.

  16. I believe the saying is "fake it 'til you make it" but in Julia Baugher's case it would be "fake it 'til you're a chubby, badly dressed, mentally unhinged nobody who weasels her way into faux speaking engagements and stages photos of herself at podiums while imagining herself to be engaging, relevant and important."

  17. Smokey Cupcakes got there first. Need to read ALL posts prior to my own contribution.

So does brother Britt assist in Julia's bouts of mental illness? "Here, you take my picture and I'll pretend to be lecturing to MIT. Then we'll play Barbies, Easy Bake Oven, and Mystery Date. I get the rich boyfriend!"

  20. sorry re-posting on this new thread:

a free pizza lunch lecture hosted by a student group??? hahaha! by that logic, i have lectured at harvard, princeton, yale, MIT, johns hopkins, duke, columbia, cornell, upenn, dartmouth, etc! i am a career counselor and motivational speaker and i get invited by student groups and university career services offices to speak to graduating seniors on campus. free food is usually involved. wow, i need to update my resume using the julia allison method...

  21. I am relieved the pictures were staged so those poor students weren't subjected to those ham hock legs.

  22. Bingo square: Visit with Cancer Dan will prompt either 1) 24 hours of silence or 2)a late night video/rambling essay about how "none of this" is important, and assorted Lifetime network platitudes about following one's heart...

all leadingt to her inevitibale move to chicago and an indefinite hiatus for the site. A graceful exit, as it were...

  24. I'm sorry but given the typical tone of her blog this blood filled tubes "filtered" CD's blood on her blog is just tasteless. She partied and ate cupcakes for 3 days in Boston and then finally show up to photograph blood filled tubes?

  26. Chescaleigh. BINGO! It's absolutely SICK. Take down the photo of blood filled tubes for GOD SAkes.

  27. I cannot weait to see her, putting forward the right side of her face, lips pursed, chest thrust out (me! me! me! Over here! Me!), wearing a green shiny cindarella skirt with one arm around Cancer Dan, who is konked out in a chemo room and has tubes up his nose and pain on his face...

That should be the screen saver for her website.

    ReplyDelete
  28. She should do a cancer dan head-to-toe!

What color is that hopsital gown you're wearing Cancer Dan? Egg-shell white? Summer Cloud white? I love the way it makes you inpatient ID wristband pop!

  29. I'm not a JA fan, but I have to call the commentary to this post BS. Unless I missed something - was there another photo where she was posing and pretending to talk? The photo I see (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jPWI-ZpHF1E/SfZw-Ht4_yI/AAAAAAAAALY/ijLvvIdhQXk/s400/NB8YioMLimti5bre2MrnVP8No1_500.jpg) looks fine to me. She looks like she's posing with the podium and looking slightly away.. She doesn't look like she's pretending to be mid-speech. And of course, I might be wrong, maybe she posted a caption about how that photo was mid-speech, but the caption I see looks like she's just saying she was there and did a talk.

You guys seem to be making a big deal out of nothing..

no she totally did. There are three MIT lectern photos on her web page. Two are as described in previous post with the hand stuff. A witness to the lecture said the actual talk had her seated at a table. So...

She never spoke at the podium. Instead of posting a picture of herself talking at the table while she spoke, she took pictures AFTER posing in front of a random podium that had nothing to with her speech. She clearly labeled them at photos related to her speech. These are unrelated photos. These are Julia posing in front of a podium, pretending.

She pretends and lies and does little of anything else.

Also it wasn't a "speech." She met with a CLUB at MIT which is headed by the dude who took her to prom. There is no prestige. The dude who she posed with yesterday, the prom guy, he's a member of the club and invited her to meet with them. That's it.

  33. See previous post anon 2:05. An attendee said she never stood at a podium - she sat at a table and gave a talk. Julia blew it up to be WAY more than it was, which was really just speaking to a student club. More lies.

These photos were completely staged, which is just nuts. Julia Allison is completely detached from reality. Who actually takes pictures of themselves at a podium pretending to speak, when they actually sat at a table.... yeah she lied, no big deal. The big deal is WHY make up these lies????

  37. Chescaleigh, I feel the same way. It truly sickens and saddens me deeply. Blood filled tubes after she partied in Boston for 3 days? After she left her stop at the hospital as a "last minute" fly by. Give me a break. If I felt the way she says she does about him, you'd bet I'd make more than 1 trip prior to my bus home. My heart goes out to him and I pray that he gets better.

  38. The faux John McCain hand gestures are priceless!

  40. "So then I showed up at the Gawker Halloween party as Condom Fairy. There will be a separate tutorial afterwards about the proper technique involved in pasting condoms to your bodice. And I followed it up with some shots of myself bending over in front of the Gawker offices. I recommend following up every desperate attempt to garner publicity by showing up at parties to which you are uninvited and wearing birth control methods, with an ass-shot. You might want to write that one down."

    Innovation!

  41. She puts her little MIT logo gift bag (received as a thank you AFTER her lunch chat with the studend club)because it's the only thing in the room she can use to prove she's actually at MIT. The pictures are totally FAKE! But she will OF COURSE use them in her press kit as legitimate proof. 2009: MIT, guest lecturer.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I am baffled. So Julia probably shilled NonSociety.com like crazy and thus anticipates page hits from those who attended her lecture (and in her mind are also new fans).

Doesn't she worry that they'll notice that uh, she's at a podium? That those pictures are like nothing they actually observed during their attendance at her "lecture?"

    ReplyDelete
  43. Can your tipster fill us in on what she discussed? I'm completely curious as to what MIT (or any organization) would invite Julia Allison to expound upon. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  44. That is fucking hilarious. Top ten, for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yeah, it was super smart for her to put the MIT gift bag next to the photo. Totally for press clippings and nothing else.

What would have been so bad about posing while seated speaking to MIT students.

The hand gestures are so bob dole.

    ReplyDelete
  46. 4:35 MIT didn't invite her. Her HS prom date, a member of their Innovation Club (speaker choice fail, seriously) did. I don't know if it was posted here or in the previous thread, but it was explained that she basically talked in circles and constantly said "befriend reporters and connected people" and uh "stretch and massage the truth". That's it.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I do not know if this was commented upon yet, but in the second staged podium shot (sadly only available at nonsociety) she is totally mimicking Tim Berners-Lee body language in his photo on her site. She is so pathetic!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I don't know why she didn't take a pic of her AND the audience while giving whatever speech/lecture she was giving.
