Comment of The Year

It's long, but it's worth it. Amid the lunacy that broke out in the comments tonight -- it's Good Friday, drink up everyone!! -- came this highly intelligent bolt of perspective:

She gets to play dress up all day, and sleep til 12, then go on tv to talk about twitter, and her business makes no revenue, and the rest of us have to actually, you know, WORK for living, be responsible, pay our bills. We don't have interns to go to Bloomie's for us to return underwear. And we wouldn't treat our interns like that, even if we did.

Just how long do you think that will last? Let's turn the calendar back a year. She was working for Star magazine, she was writing a column in Time Out New York, she was being followed around by cameras shrieking to Mary "This is our life now!" and telling Gawker and designers and sponsors and investors aka her parents how big and successful IT Girls was going to be on Bravo. She was dating someone who genuinely seemed to care about her (Forman). She was pestering real estate agents to show her huge high ceiling three bedroom loft spaces because she was sure Bravo would kick in half and she could once again skate off of someone else's dime. The NY Times called her the New Carrie Bradshaw and she was poised to be exactly that.

Skip ahead a few chapters of that script and where is she now?

Let's see. No reality tv show. Consider for a moment the total humiliation she must feel after talking that up for so long. You know people snicker and laugh when she walks in to a party. You think she has fun at those things? She doesn't. She hates them. She knows what people are saying about her. She dreads going to those things but has to in order to try and maintain some semblance of an image.

The girl got fired from two fairly high profile jobs. That knocked her down about 3 income brackets. People at both publications hated her. Recommendations? Uh, she got none.

Her boyfriend humiliates her in front of a room full of peers. The next guy she dated didn't even want it known they were dating. Know when he pays any attention to her? When he wants to get laid. And she jumps at any attention he gives her, too. It's pathetic.

She gained about 20-25 pounds. Yes, she did.

She's had to resort to a cheap matchmaker to find her dates and she can't manage to get a third date from any of those men.

Her online View-esque show is universally mocked. The producers of that shit show rush to dump them off on some other poor unsuspecting channel (inside info? She and the other girls didn't get a dime for that deal.NBC/NSNY IS NOT filming any new episodes. NNN was paid extra to shoot extra episodes and when they're done they're done. There isn't even a guarantee that those episodes will air anywhere. NBC is buying a ton of fluff content from various places. This comes straight from a friend at NBC Digital Media department.)

She wears the same ratty looking dress to events. Her clothes don't fit her anymore so she's resorted to wearing tennis skirts to conventions.

Peers in the industry she so badly wants respect from are now no longer afraid to publicly mock her anywhere possible.

Gawker has completely thrown her under the bus.

She's going to have to move in with a HS friend in order to live in Manhattan.

Finally? She's flat busted broke, no job, no fixed income. Zippo.

Her life is a 24/7 Cathy comic strip. And the best part is that she did it all by herself.

Do you know how many people live off their parents well into their thirties in this city? If I got ripped every time I heard about another no talent douche bag getting free stuff and getting people to pay their rent my head would explode. Be proud of yourself that you have the integrity to work hard and be responsible. Boo hoo. You had to work for a living. Boo hoo. You had to put yourself through school. You and millions of other people. I don't see all those people flocking here to bitch.

I won't say feel sorry for her because she used and abused a lot of people to get to that middle rung. What she's experiencing is karmic backlash combined with harsh reality. All I'm suggesting is to really see this woman for who and what she is.

This made me feel so very sad. Well written, but so so sad. I had lunch with a NYC social media expert on Wednesday. She knows JA quite well and told me all about how people really laugh at her (not only behind her back but to her face). For the first time ever, I feel sorry for JA. I still want to smack her in the gob though....

LMAO. This is totally a nonstop Cathy comic strip!!!

  3. Nuff' said.

And thank you for confirming the very real snickering, the NNN unprofitable deal, and the fact that everyone hated her at TONY and Star.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I will never understand how people feel sorry for JA.

None of any of this "happened" to her - she actively sought each and every bit and dismisses any criticism as jealousy. Worse, she will never change.

And even worse than that? Her greatest asset is that she doesn't heed any criticism and she will probably land on her feet. That is, at its very core, what infuriates people. She is an unlikeable, insincere, backstabbing, attention-whoring and opportunity grabbing person who will, most likely, stay in the damn picture in some fashion.

So the bad guys win. Hence, this site.

  5. I wonder how she doesn't run off into the corner in hysterics each time she has to set foot outside her apartment? She really has lost all of her friends, save for very few. And non of the friends she used to count among her most impressive, her big name friends, are in her corner. She was confronted quite forcefully at SXSW by those former friends. This led to her coming home and coming undone on video, asking her haters to confront her and the announcing SHE IS SO HAPPY.

  7. Yes, she was confronted at CES by some critics. It's well documented.

  8. well documented where TJ?

  9. I'm not getting into a pissing match nor am I going to dig up the numerous places it's mentioned online. THE END. I live RBNS, I appreciate Jacy's hard work on this blog and I have no desire to be the source of so much ire on the this blog.

  10. *I love RBNS, yes could be a Freudian slip! ha!

  11. TJ, sorry im not one of the haters who have been giving you a hard time today. But really come on lol, where was the CES/SXSW confrontations well documented at? not trying to pick a fight im actually interested in what i missed because i generally stay on top of this blog and the comments a lot.

  12. Anon1:27: It was all over Twitter -- various people at the conference Twittering about what a useless fool she was, including people who were once friendly to her. Heather Gold might have been one of them. You'd have to go and dig them out by using IceRocket.

Also, I just found this. Fucking sweet:

  13. Wondering who wrote this - Rachel Sklar springs to mind. Really covers off the whole picture.
Julia is becoming the punchline to a joke, silly girl.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Rachel Sklar took a jab at Julia via twitter recently.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I, too, recollect reading about Julia leaving SXSW with her tail between her legs after embarrassing herself horribly. CES was nearly as big a fiasco, particularly when Jules, Mary, and the other one decided to hang out with the porn convention folk, later removing the many lurid snaps that they had posted. Too bad. Not all of us share Julia's short term memory.

As for the analysis of JA circa April 2008 posted by Jacy, sure, it's rather sad but Julia brought this all on herself. One who possesses no discernible talent and no professionalism simply cannot treat fellow human beings--friends, contacts, colleagues--like garbage on a consistent basis and expect that treatment to be tolerated indefinitely. Karma sure is a bitch when you've burnt every bridge and destroyed your looks through binging, botox, and mania induced sleeplessness.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Rachel Sklar walks among us. SERIOUSLY among us.

    ReplyDelete
  17. TJ ohh ok i got you now. i thought you meant people actually went up to her face and confronted her (and THAT was well documented), most people seem to say passive aggressive things over twitter about her (someone did call her out on a panel once tho).

That Loren video: PRICELESS. LOLLLL. Totally missed that one.

    thx!

  18. I do think some confronted her when she and sheila lazar did their woman's pow wow of sorts in the bloggers lounge but I could be wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  19. And Rex S. made a video mocking JA that he was showing to people in his hotel room at SXSW.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Um, didn't Meghan herself blog after CES about upping the ante and bringing better content and basically admitted their coverage sucked and they were going to try harder? I'm not going to look for it but i remember it quite distinctly.

  21. "She is an unlikeable, insincere, backstabbing, attention-whoring and opportunity grabbing person who will, most likely, stay in the damn picture in some fashion."

Sadly, I'm in agreement. Though I do think her downfall will ultimately be her complete lack of a work ethic. I can't imagine her ever being able to hold down any real job for a considerable length of time.

I just know she'll end up on tv, endlessly, somehow.

    ReplyDelete
  22. This was obviously written by someone who knows JA at least reasonably well. Oh, to know who it is...

My first fake tweet. So disappointing. Come guys. Let’s at least be funny. I think I would say…. “Friday nite my flat ass is home watching Lost becos I don’t know how to reed” Ok, that’s not funny, but it’s more creative than thin hair!

Can I get back to Lost in peace now?"

  29. Not to mention the manic mood swings, the incessant Twitter stalking of various celebrities, using a friend with cancer as a ploy to gain sympathy when she fucks up, taking the same picture of herself wherever she goes.....

    ReplyDelete
  30. Gee Jules, now might be the time to switch to Plan B. You do have a Plan B, don't you?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Reading this (which is awesome and well-written), I felt bad for JA for about ten seconds before I realized that she has the power to stop this and turn her life around at any time.

Julia, I don't know how you manage to go out in public without having an absolute panic attack, but it can't be good for you to hold in all of that self-hate and self-doubt.

I know you think you're special and you strive every day to "live differently," but try to "live normally" for 6 months: leave nyc, tone it down, make new friends, get a desk job, casually date. And, above all, stop living your life for and on the Internet.

It's really not that bad. you'll have stressful days and sad days and frustrating days, but the relationships you'll form , the respect you'll have for yourself and the satisfaction of making it on your own (even if "making it" means living in a crappy apartment and having to cook your own meals because you can't afford take out for awhile) will make it totally worth it.

    Trust.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Why would anybody feel bad for her? Feeling bad would require that she wasn't responsible. Do you really think someone who has done things she's done is normal? nice? sane?

    ReplyDelete
  33. That 1938media video was crazy!

"I do not give you my permision to publish this," she shrieks at the camera.

You worked for Star! You go on tv and talk snarkily and judgementally about people you've never met!

"Don't involve yourself in other people's relationships"

    Wha, what!

    Wild. Hypocrisy unbound.

    ReplyDelete
  34. She's not going to land on her feet. She won't be homeless or go hungry, but she won't land on her feet.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I agree, 9:55. If NS tanks, I think we all know Julia is going to get the fuck out of NY.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Jackles is not landing on her feet. She is fucking over. She blew it. Maybe she can regroup in Chicago and get on some kind of local cable network's morning programme, but she fucked her chances of 'big league' action by being a talentless cuntface with no work ethic. The end.

    ReplyDelete
  37. ... and now she's outing congressmen

    ReplyDelete
  38. lol @ the suggestion she get a desk job.

But really you guys....let's pretend NS caved next week. What would she do to make money? She has absolutely NO experience in anything. I mean yeah she is a "journalist" but since journalism is dead and all her journalistic feats were being a talking head for Star and then writing about her make believe dating life for TONY and AM NY.....what really could she do? Where can she go from here besides making an ass of herself on the web. That's pretty much her only option lol. sad.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Let's also not forget that one thing she loves to crow this, from a Huffpo interview just about a month ago:
"I've spoken to all the senior execs at A&E, and the top three hundred marketing execs at Unilever".

I remember someone coming here saying she was roundly unlikeable at some network like A&E or Discovery, but that's besides the point. Here's the gem from AdAge 3 days ago, quotes from Unilever's Chief Marketing Officer at a conference. Rough timing, huh:

"pointed to Julia Allison's rise from obscurity via her video blog, NonSociety, and other social tools, which he said shows "what's possible with no resources, no agency and, dare I say, no talent."

    http://adage.com/digital/article?article_id=135866

    ReplyDelete
  40. After NS burps its final lifecast, Julia will have to head to a new city. No one of even ill repute will hire her in NYC. Let's face it: the looks are going, she possesses no discernible skills, and, worst of all, is constantly late and appears to have no work ethic. No one wants to have deal with a consummate UNprofessional. The move will be to Chicago. She'll live off Dad Revenue in his downtown condo that we've all heard so much about as she attempts to ingratiate herself with Chicago media types, where her BS will be worth even less than it was in NYC. Julia will blog endlessly about loving Chicago and wanting to be the next Oprah Winfrey. When all her Chicago hustling fails--Midwesterners REALLY value humility and a strong work ethic and will have no patience with her posing--Julia will finally be institutionalized for a number of months. Her family will attempt to keep this a secret. Julia will be released from the sanitarium, see a number of shrinks on a regular basis, and eventually marry one of her father's business associates, an older man who feels pity more than desire.

    Let it unfold.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Being called a no talent doesn't faze her. She knows she has no talent other than promoting herself. Which, you have to admit, she does very well. Better than very well. The problem she encounters time and again is that the people who give her these chances (almost always men) expect her to produce so as to avoid making them look like fools. That's where she fails every single time. Her MO is now predictable:

    *Sell yourself hard
*Convince someone you can put them on the map/bring them publicity
*Get their company's name out there along with your own by acting in questionable ways
*Realize those brands want you to actually work
*Sabotage yourself by biting the hand that fed you
    *Lose gig
    *Start over

Think about it. Tumblr, Twitter, Blue Print Cleanse...any body ever hear of these things often before Julia? Those brands became synonymous with the name Julia Allison. Ka-ching! But then it all backfired. Tumblr bowed to her whims one too many times, Blue Print appears to have a horrible affect on her physically and she looks unhealthy. Suddenly she's not such a great spokesperson.

The jobs and opportunities she's been given - the free clothes, the juices, the frequent mentions on Gawker, the spots at conferences - weren't given to her because she's a wunderkind. They were given to her because she's so "outrageous" that her antics and behavior will get noticed by the press and she'll get to mention whatever product she's representing. She'll get their name out their along with hers. Problem is, she sometimes forget that she's being paid to get their name out there and focuses only on getting hers out to the public at large.

Her problem is that she gets greedy. She starts taking advantage. She starts using these opportunities to get "bigger" opportunities, completely screwing the person that gave her the opportunity. She lost the job at Star because she was trying too hard to further her own brand and not theirs. Same thing with TONY. The Matchmaker article was the last time she screwed the pooch with TONY. Bad move on her part trying to keep her firing from TONY from MSNBC.

Nobody likes to be made to look like a fool. Not Denton, or Star editors or TONY editors or Blueprint Cleanse or MSNBC or designers. Her welcome has been thoroughly worn out.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'll give the girl blue print cleanse but I'm not willing to say that tumblr and twitter are synonymous with Jules. No way!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'd feel sorry for most others in this position, but not her. It is entirely of her own doing. I'd start betting odds on her but I think Jack's got the predictions of the future in the bag.

Don't burn bridges kids unless you know you can build new ones.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Nothing Julia has done with her "career" is hard to duplicate. Step on every person you can to get to the top. Lie about yourself and everything you do. Steal the ideas, image and words from other people, pretend like its your brilliance. Use every possible means you can to get attention, including humiliating people. Stalk, find and photograph yourself with anybody recognized to convince people you're connected and well known even if you're not. Crash parties. Use people. Latch onto small people who are easily enamored with said phony success/affluence/status, especially if they've got some kind of brand name or connection to what you want. Repeat.

This is where people grossly underestimate Julia. No, this is not "easy" to do. It's not "easy" to do all those things and get away with them. Which she did. She was able to get past a plagerism scandal, screwing a married congressman, getting fired, etc. You don't just get past those things without some kind of a talent. I'm not suggesting her talent has anything to do with her writing skills or work ethic. No. I'm saying she has the ability to convince people she has what they need. Do her looks hurt? Probably not. I'm sure it's not a coincidence that she fails miserably at trying to succeed in media/television where she'd be considered average and succeeded temporarily in a medium like tech which is over populated with nerdy guys.

She's well spoken and charismatic enough to convince certain types of people that she can make them rich or famous. That's a talent.

That's why everybody who tried to be "the next Julia Allison" failed. Everybody who wrote a sex or dating column or who wanted to be the next Emily Brill flooded Gawker with stories about themselves. A few who were totally desperate for fame willingly allowed Denton to roast them on a spit a few times hoping he'd be their Rainmaker. Jesus, even Emily Brill with all her money still failed because she has the charisma of a soggy brown paper bag.

Julia has a talent, and it's one that's not so easy to replicate. She just used her powers for evil instead of good, which eventually (3...2...1..) is what will ruin her.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Julia's not good at promoting herself, she's just willing to do, be and say whatever it takes to get attention. There is a difference.

Twitter was huge before J.A. got on it. Nobody outside of the little circle that surrounds her knows what Tumblr is so no success there.

    ReplyDelete
  46. 1:23

I tend to agree which makes her all the more unlikable. She's a typical disordered individual; decent IQ, ability to size people up and assess what they can do in a matter of minutes, deceptively charming while she's on the "take", disingenuous throughout the process, and ultimately a thief and a liar who will never return the favor.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Also, she was beautiful and had a great rack a couple of years ago. There is NO WAY Gawker would have paid any attention to her if she hadn't looked the way she did. Now that the looks have gone, she's done. If she was trying to do what she did then right now, Denton would be killing out her e-mails without reading them, and having her thrown out of the parties she crashed.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I've never seen a photo then or now and thought Julia Allison was beautiful. Plus Denton is gay.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Julia's not good at promoting herself, she's just willing to do, be and say whatever it takes to get attention. There is a difference.

What's the difference? And how is she different than any other fame or attention hungry person that comes to Manhattan? I mean, other than she gets what she wants and most don't?

All jokes and silly gossip aside, you think she got the opportunities she got on her knees? You'd be wrong. You think people in her industry are so easily persuaded by the thought of a blow job? No way. She promises them things of much higher value - attention, status, recognition, fame, and money. Those are the angles she works and works them well.

I don't think she's willing to do whatever it takes. I would bet she's been offered a lot of things if she agreed to sleep with somebody, pose nude, etc. I don't think she'd stoop to that, mainly because she doesn't have to. She leaves that for the lower eschalon wannabes.

The problem isn't how willing she is to do something. The problem is with the people she targets who give her what she wants. The upside is that those people are getting to be fewer and fewer.

    ReplyDelete
  50. "Also, she was beautiful and had a great rack a couple of years ago. There is NO WAY Gawker would have paid any attention to her if she hadn't looked the way she did."

Gawker used her for page views. Her looks didn't hurt, but it wasn't her looks that got people so annoyed and outraged that they felt compelled to clink on any JA link. They used her for her shamelessness and ability to evoke any kind of response. She just happened to be really hot, too. It was her personality and sense of entitlement and because Gawker knew who their target market was. Pretty girl with great body gets to date hot guys. Jealousy ensues.

Gawker used Julia for traffic, that's it. She'd bitch about Gawker Gawker Gawker, get the name out there, get people talking, people would flood Gawker to read about her. And she used them right back.

    ReplyDelete
  51. @Anonymous 1:43, If you consider a spot on the low rung successful, you're right. She's a genius. I don't think she gave up sex to get anywhere either. She gave up integrity, named names, lied excessively, humiliated people. If that doesn't qualify for "whatever it takes" not sure what will, but you appear to have a different standard (and idea of what is success) than me. A lot of people used the internet to get places. Free products and plane rides are not an achievement.

Julia is in the low eschalon of tech and even there, nobody admires or respects her.

    ReplyDelete
  52. @ 1:48, let's not forget the Denton has also considered starting a gawker blog solely focused on fameballs. He's always kicked around that idea. It would be a smaller venture, maybe sorta like "valleywag" for Gawker but "fameball" (or whatever) instead. I don't think he'll ever do it but he does just like the catty trash talking and salacious gossip the theme attracts.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Now that real celebrities are on the net, that blog would fail. Plus who Denton considers "famous" is always a bit laughable. Just the other day, I swear there was a mad rush outside of nowhere for Emily Gould.

    ReplyDelete
  54. And can we talk about Lily??? WTF???!!! I'm not crazy pet advocate or anything but having a dog that you CONSTANTLY leave with a neighbor (who has spent more time with the dog than you in the last 3 months) is pretty fucking irresponsible and borderline cruel. I think momma baugher should take that dog back, just like she did with the first one.

    ReplyDelete
  55. "She's well spoken and charismatic enough to convince certain types of people that she can make them rich or famous. That's a talent."

STOP THE PRESSES. Seriously, have you tried to play the game of watching her on video and her inability to complete a sentence. it's pretty freaking hilarious. Most of her speaking engegements (and videos) consist of a bunch of run-on sentences. Well spoken, she is NOT.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I think the people here claiming she made twitter big, and even julia herself, need to lay off the twitterfandom. Julia follows all of 45 people, and has roughly 10K followers. She's no iJustine when it comes to twitter. She doesn't appear to really know what twitter is like, unlike the other experts of the site. And she keeps saying she interacts with her readers on twitter, but she doesn't. it's just her tool to stalk celebs.

    ReplyDelete
  57. 2:48, I've seen her in person when she's working a room. It all depends on how confident she's feeling. She's a power house when she's on her game. Her problems of late are directly related to how depressed and anxious she's feeling over her current state of affairs. Last year at this time she could sell ice to an eskimo.

    ReplyDelete
  58. @3:01 I don't know about selling ice to an eskimo but certainly she once walked with confidence, and had an ability to feign interest in and compliment anyone, therefore making some semi-lucrative connections.

This has all changed. I'd say the change was around Thanksgiving of last year. Her confidence plummeted, she started gaining weight (mind you, I don't think it's that visible, I'm going by her weight time line) and she became more of a hermit. Sure, she attends conferences, takes meetings, and films her show but she goes to far fewer parties especially with anyone in her former precious 2.0 inner circle. She's not even invited to small gatherings and many of the bigger parties are ones she's pushed her way into.

Her middle of the night post-sxsw video was very honest; I do think she feels very bad about herself and she always blames "feeling bad" on her body (not her "self"---thus making something more material and personal into an object, i.e. "I hate my body") that going out, connecting with people, and creating her brand is nearly impossible.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Oh Julia.. I mean, anonymous. I've seen her "working a room" too. Those little eyes darting around, the boobies working double time in some DVF sale dress. That stumpy lower half hobbling around. The fake extensions, nails, personalities. TOTAL powerhouse.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Let's not forget the fact that 98% of the time when she's working the room as a "powerhouse" she's not even invited.

Seriously, anonymous, if this is your role model, your career will be in the toilet.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Wow.com. How sad of a life must you lead to carry around so much hate for someone who has no bearing on your life? It must really suck for you that your life turned out so poorly that you spend day and night on this blog shitting on people. Is it that awful for you to hear that Julia once had some form of a talent? Or does it just burn you that you're a nobody despite all your attempts to be otherwise? Nobody hates just to hate. There's got to be something more behind it. It's so scary and sad for you that you don't have the balls to be able to deal with your own issues, that you have to use this blog as some form of therapy.

Don't bother with the accusations of how I must be Julia or someone friends with Julia. I'm not.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Seriously, anonymous, if this is your role model, your career will be in the toilet.

Where did that person say she considered Julia a role model?
Do you have any idea how obsessive and fucked up you sound when you project that kind of stuff on to other people's words? Seriously, get a grip on your obsession and hatred, Hinckley. Maybe that's why you're on here and not doing anything of importance.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Oh dear, looks like the nutbags and That Girl Allison have returned. And right before Easter! :(

    ReplyDelete
  64. I don't argue with anything said here or that Julia didn't bring this all on her self. I just don't get people who can "suggest" with all seriousness and solemnity that "we see this woman for who and what she is.".

Who doesn't do this? That's all I ask.

This is just fucking hilarious to me. Everybody knows all of this is just the stupidest, most inane shit imaginable and that is the charm of this site.

That Julia was angling towards a shot at the 'big leagues' - to go on network or cable TV and talk about celebrities, or for a 'reality show' to further the celebration of herself speaks to the so-called 'legitimacy' of those forums as much as does to the running SNL skit that is NS itself in my view. Julia Allison is a perfect metaphor for the culture because Julia Allison is the culture and in her downfall one can discern the downfall of everything that filled NYC media and finance with all its bluster, helium and bullshit these last dozen or so years.

To a certain extent we are all complicit by commenting here. Gawker the same. And certainly Loren Feldman milks that cow as much as anybody else - "paydirt" indeed.

    Just spare me the superiority.

  65. anon 3:45 LOL. How sad of a life must you lead to be preaching and chastising people on a site for because they carry around so much hate for someone who has no bearing on any of our lives. Does that mean that commenters here having a bearing on your life?

  67. remove the word "for" (which was a typo) and yes, it's English. I'll simplify, since you seem easily confused...You're a fucking hypocrite, get over yourself.

  68. I wish I could have a life like Julia Allison. I'd love to hate myself, be the obvious disappointment of my parents, have the people I wish were my peers sneer at me as I crash their parties. I most of all wish for the free Blueprint cleanse!

  69. ijustine has over 300,000 followers on twitter. julia has only over 9,000. those numbers must KILL julia with jealousy. and she had the nerve to bash ijustine on her blog saying she whored herself to some camera company.

julia will never be ijustine, no matter how much she wants and tries to acquire that level of online fame.

  70. I agree that Justine is the better example of how to use the internet to move your career. Justine has worked hard, kept it classy. Plus she's 500x hotter than Julia. Julia is the woman you don't tell anybody you're dating. Justine is the woman you marry

  71. 3:45, i'll never get over or understand people who come here ANONYMOUSLY and then judge us for judging someone else who put their life on the internet for all to see, gawk at and "enjoy". you don't know us anymore than we know julia allison. so we're all being judgmental and in the wrong. get over it.

4:56, spot on. justine is certainly marriage material and that's a huge difference between these two. justine exudes natural self confidence that doesn't come off as cocky or fake. not to mention, she's a naturally pretty girl without face fillers or extensions. something about that is just really endearing to me.

julia on the other hand just comes off...crazy, unstable and almost obsessively vainly insecure. i think we all agree that she did this to herself, but that type of self destructive behavior is (dare i say) a real sickness.

i wonder if julia really understands what her actions have done to herself, her "friends" and her career. i can't decide if deep down she's miserable about how things have turned out or if she's so delusional that she doesn't see how crappy things have gotten.

I think she is starting to realize; the evidence is her kilter public appearances and fluctuating moods. I still don't think she sees it as "her fault" or "her responsibility." She sees the downward slope of her own celebrity, and the rising celebrity of those like ijustine, as something that others are inflicting upon her. As if sites like RBNS and reblogging etc. just appeared out of thin air to HARM JULIA, rather than to poke fun at the ridiculous "product" she devotes her time to.

  73. Chescaleigh, I don't think 3:45 was judging anybody for being here. I think she was commenting on how angry the comment above this/hers was.

  75. Anon @ 1:43

What's the difference? And how is she different than any other fame or attention hungry person that comes to Manhattan? I mean, other than she gets what she wants and most don't?

OK, so what has she gotten that so many covet, but so few achieve? A few months of microcelebrity fame? Even at her peak, she was a nobody to 95% of NYC. And now? She's worse than just a nobody - she's a pathetic joke.

So, all those people are fucking morons who believed this braying idiot?

I don't think she's willing to do whatever it takes. I would bet she's been offered a lot of things if she agreed to sleep with somebody, pose nude, etc. I don't think she'd stoop to that, mainly because she doesn't have to. She leaves that for the lower eschalon wannabes.

You seem to believe that she has some sort of status that other people envy. Maybe for a few minutes last year, some naive kids did, but who the hell wants to be a thoroughly mocked weirdo with haggard looks?

And I got news for you: she is lower echelon these days.
