Julia: Twitter Expert

This was posted by Jackles herself to Vimeo a week or so ago. I guess she doesn't have TiVo? But shouldn't she be taping and studying Oprah every day, since she's going to be the next Oprah? It seems she videotaped this while sitting in front of her TV set.

  1. I firmly blame her for the new facebook changes (which i'm not a huge fan of). She becomes BFFs with Randi Zuckerberg and suddenly facebook becomes twitter? Coincidence? I think not.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Seems like the twitter "expert" would make sure to secure the twitter handle for her own company name. Oops.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Anon 747, you're giving Julia Allison WAAAY too much credit. She's a desperate hanger-on to Randi Suckerberg... nothing more. Serious nobody.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I don't want to be the one to say it, but indeed, the camera does add 10 pounds.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Me thinks the idea of yoolia recording her tv with a camcorder is mighty funny!

    ReplyDelete
  6. TJ: And then posts it to Vimeo. And she wonders why people think she's insane.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Jacy:
Exactly! Forget all the body stuff, and even stupid outfits, it's things like this that are truly hysterical and make me question her sanity.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Julia Baugher posts concrete proof of her insanity every day on her blog. Endless pictures of her sitting alone in her apartment taking photo booth pictures of herself or her dog. Those make up the bulk of any original "content" she produces. It's creepy.

    ReplyDelete
  9. You know, you can tell she seems really well-prepared for this segment. She doesn't stumble over her words, she's clear, she's not braying... Why on earth does she not carry this over to TMI? Why would she not put forth that same effort to her BUSINESS? She's absolutely awful on TMI, the worst part of it by far. Come on Julia, you're capable of better!

    ReplyDelete
  10. She's actually not too bad here, with a couple of qualifications. One, the finger snapping. Stop. Two, the interview is not about her but she makes it about her. We don't care. Stick to the topic.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Let It Upchuck!

Lenin Ingrate University ...it is where Russian Girl brother Boris slay big math equations with the Julia Allison twitters

    ReplyDelete
  12. I agree that she gave an OK performance, much better than what we see on TMI. However, if you remember, TMI is supposed to be a bunch of "girlfriends" chatting...AND THAT'S WHY SHE SUCKS. SHE CANNOT HAVE A REAL CONVERSATION! She doesn't know how to not interject herself/her life/her dumb stories that point out how "wonderful" she is into everything.

    ReplyDelete
  13. She. Is. Such. A. Braying. Donkey.

    ReplyDelete
  14. How much of the blame for Julia's awful writing and stupid ideas can be laid at Lily-dog's paws? According to the HuffPo interview, she and her dog are business partners, after all.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I would have to say that Lily has been forced into this venture. Word is she wasn't ready for all the responsibility and hates being left behind for important networking sessions. Rumor has it that she may be quitting...

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think she is jealous of Mason's apparent freedom. He broke out of this mess; Lily is stuck in it. On one hand, she doesn't want to upset her 'owner' of the past couple of years, but on the other hand, she has some ideas of her own: Unleashed.com, a networking site for pooches of NYC. Mason may contribute a couple of bones to this...

Look, I'm only repeating what's being sniffed about at the dog run in Union Sq. park.

    Muffs

    ReplyDelete
  17. I've heard that Lily detests her "Monster" nickname. She thinks it's bad for business.

Uptown, in Riverside park, I heard some mumblings about Lily's other business venture: a home for neglected dogs. She seems to be very passionate about this.

  18. Poor Lily. Had to wear a stupid shamrock headband yesterday because none of JABAs human leveraged relationships are willing to go along with the "let's get dressed up in slutty costumes and go pull a stunt somewhere for attention".

  19. Mary's quote of the day:

    "Blame is easier than guilt."
    — Kyle King (Wednesday’s Quote from Kyle)

    Nicely done, Mary. Nicely done.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I don't think the Twitter people would appreciate her being an "expert" on their behalf when she has such obscene language in her tweets, like the current gem:

"Just had a totally inspiring 2 hour meeting with Tyler Goldman, CEO of Buzznet. Now THIS GUY knows how to live differently. Shiiiiiit."

And I've seen even more vulgar language. Way to keep it Klassy, JAB!

    ReplyDelete
  21. What is the difference between Julia and Vanilla Ice?

Vanillla Ice knew when to quit :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Anon10:55 -- That is just her attempt to be ghetto, which is so cringingly embarrassing that it bothers me more than the cursing.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm surprised Julia hasn't figured out that Rachel Ray is the "mini-Oprah." She got there by learning her industry from the ground up and putting in many years of hard work (sorry, Jules, but that's what it takes).

If Jackles had channeled her time and energy into climbing the success ladder rung by rung, instead of wasting it by looking for shortcuts to the top, she could have been there by now.

(Rachel Ray is not my cup of tea, mind you, but I respect her work ethic and her non-profit organization.)

    ReplyDelete
  24. @TMI is already taken on Twitter, too. It's full of gutter-talk, which should resonate nicely with fans of Nonstop New York channel (probably not advertisers, though). That's what you get for choosing a common expression as your business name (right, SciFi...er, SyFy Channel?)

    ReplyDelete
  25. once again, julia the "Expert" misses the point. why wouldn't she talk about british actor and writer stephen fry, who was truly the first celebrity to twitter? in terms of numbers of followers, his is second to BARACK OBAMA. he twitters constantly and does all kinds of interesting things with it, as well as integrates the content into his blog, his podcast and his website. and he's an old guy! (50s or 60s) also, brent spiner (Data from star trek) is currently holding a contest for his followers...whoever comes up with the wittiest reply to his tweets will have the honor of composing his 500th tweet. this kind of stuff is interesting, and if she did 5 seconds of research (i.e. google "celebrities on twitter") she would find this stuff out. but no, she goes with the obvious britney spears and ashton kutcher. idiot. it angers me that i know more about celebrities on twitter than she, and i am not in the media or tech industry and i am not a blogger. julia, if you are reading, this is why other women tire of your antics...you do a half-assed job that insults the intelligence of the rest of us.

    ReplyDelete
  26. That woman Julia does NOT look like a 27 year old.
She almost looks as mature as the blonde.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Julia Baugher talks mostly about Ashton Kutcher because that's the celebrity she deems most worthy of her incredibly creepy tweet stalking. Learning about what politicians or others are doing with twitter would require actual research and a little hard WORK, something we all know Julia is very averse to. She just wants to sit on her lazy be-Juicy sweatpantsed ass get PAID PAID PAID... not actually do anything worth getting paid for.

    ReplyDelete
  28. This was actually one of her BETTER onscreen appearances! Which isn't saying much, but at least she can tone down her usual braying and appear somewhat sensible when she needs to. Although the snapping and overactive hand motions need to go. Also, those gross red talons/Lee Press-On nails are extremely tacky and distracting. Even though she's grown puffier and more worn-out looking over the years, she's still an attractive woman who just needs to tone her style down and embrace whatever natural beauty she still has.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Let's remember that 2 days after this appearance, Yoolia announced her deal with the NBC owned cab channel. She has an incentive to do "her best" on MSNBC. She's on par with a Courtney Hazelet (MSNBC's pop culture girl)here--semi articulate but noticeably uncomfortable on camera.

    ReplyDelete
  30. 10:33--I heard the cite/site/sight/siiiit was nonleashed.com. I could be wrong, though.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I heard it was EmancipationofMary.com. Lots of butterflies, bling, and pitchy background music.

    ReplyDelete
  32. What happened to the 11 dates til sexytime video? It's not on TMI's site anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I will always find her endlessly grating. Now that she is no longer a columnist for TONY how will she parlay her microfame into meaningless appearances on news shows no one watches? Julia Allison, nonsociety.com founder? I think not.

It never ceases to amaze me that no matter how many times I see her on tv, she NEVER says anything that is not completely obvious or known by everyone already.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh Julia. You're such a disaster. Tyler Goldman has about as good as a rep in biz as you. Of course you'd gush over him.

Now Julia will be the next Tyler Goldman. She'll start talking as if she invented whatever Buzznet actually is (which we know Julia will never know), alert the media that she is the future of ad networks and scarf down a filthy sandwich during a business meeting like the true trailer trash she is...

    ReplyDelete
  35. Look towards Mary announcing her visit to 'Traffic' in LA, yes, one of the very few places that carries the Red Label and the Gold Label from Vivienne Westwood. My source says A totally hooked her up>

    This is getting good.

  38. I heard Oprah is hiring Mary as her new trainer and fasting buddy. Mary is trying to talk Oprah into filming a colonic with her.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I heard Bravo is developing TOP BLOGGER, mary will be the host and judge contestant bloggers by their spelling; content; and who can pretend to be most economically sympathetic by pretending they are not receiving a trust fund when they are 30.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Who is A and who is SM (referred to on another entry quite a few times)?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Interesting she got a Facebook plug in, isn't it? Also, celebrities always had to have a filter before twitter? Celebrities have had MySpace blogs for years. And then she says Neil Abercrombie doesn't understand the implications of announcing his candidacy on twitter? He doesn't get that everyone has the information instantly? Uh...is he braindead? I would assume he knows the very basic fact that twitter is publicly accessible. She's so bad at being "young" and "hip."

    ReplyDelete
  45. I heard Mary has been hired to actually REPLACE Oprah, who wants to run for the Senate and join Obama's team!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. oh oh hide the Internets, Julia just woke up..

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh, maybe that's why she hasn't gotten back to me? Oh, no? yeah, well, never mind! Just keep taking pictures of yourself in half ass Duane Reade holiday costumes, Julia!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Good, Oprah has a big staff, they can help mary with the spelling, and the getting her drinks on the yacht.

    ReplyDelete
  49. So true anon 1:45. I honestly don't think I've ever heard anything come out of JAs mouth that wasn't a cliché, common knowledge, or stale dated (or ya, about HER). Srsly.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Uh oh, shhhhh, nobody tell Oprah what boozy trust-fund thinks of Obama, it might blow the deal.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Baugher believes in boozy...

Protip, Mary: in the future, ask your “editor” to post something vaguely resembling your own voice and vocabulary and overall understanding of sentence structure and syntax. You might want to ask your former partner about the plagiarist label on the way out.
Oh wait, was this the “guest post” you backdated foreshadowed a few hours later earlier? Odd that you didn’t credit it as such. The internet never sleeps, Mary. Want the screenshot?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Emmmm, Baugher also posted this about Mary:

In all sincerity, best of luck to you. You are the only one who developed something approximating a tolerable internet personality, and you did so in spite of considerable odds, given the dimly lit marquee name on the blog.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Yes, but finished with what we all know to be true:

Avoid any discussion of politics, current events, healthy body image and eating habits, colonic benefits and naturopathy generally, (shit this list is getting long), pretty much anything beyond fashion, spinning and self deprecation and JA passive aggression. Blow outs and blow jobs, Mary. Win your demographic. Talk about the teeth, and how it is good for the former and not the latter.

    ReplyDelete
  54. ALERT!!! ALERT!!!

I just went to look for Mary's twitter (not being a follower) and found one called More Than Mary. No follwers. No following. I then type in MoreThanMary.com into my browser and got redirected to Nonsociety.

So that must be the new blog name. Interesting. Also saw Mary's new quote about blame being easier than guilt. Double interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I heard that Mary is bypassing Oprah and going straight to the white house. She will be helping the country by 'pulling' dresses for Michelle and then blogging about it.

Her blog name will be Boozy blogs Obamas

    ReplyDelete
  56. Jesus, woman. If you are going to videotape your TV while sitting in your living room, get a fucking tripod.

Does anyone think JA doing this is a tad pathetic. It's almost... so sad that it's endearing. Hey! I'm on TV! Think I'll record it myself with my videocamera!!!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Some people here act so astonished that Julia's looks have gone down hill so much in two years or that she looks so much older than 28 but it's SO obvious she uses and abuses her own body like there's no tomorrow. The crazy sleep patterns will age you as fast as anything else harmful, including smoking and sun exposure. She will not last until 40 with a lifestyle like that. Seems like she rarely works out or gets any kind of physical activity. Mental state obviously very frazzled. Abusing body with chemical injections and juice diets. Liquid diets permanently alter your metabolism ... might be why she looks bigger now than before. Julia is like a walking advertisement for the effects of abusing your body and aging prematurely.

    ReplyDelete
  85. The "I'm in the mood for a boyfriend right now." Twitter is classic Julia - when things are bad, appeal to the horny male audience for attention.

Julia does not come off well in this Gawker article: "Julia Allison's Business Model - Become Oprah Somehow" http://tinyurl.com/dknhgy

    ReplyDelete
  86. She comes across as pathetic & desperate on her twitter.

*Twittering Ashton and Demi who don't even subscribe to her and probably have their settings so that they do not see her twits in the first place.
*Twittering FULL NAMES and, often, place of business of her "associates" (let's not call them friends!).
*Never, ever, receiving public replies from the individuals she twits. For all we know, she does not receive any replies.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Julia Baugher only has two types of friends and they both come with disclaimers.

    You're either:
    A) A "strategic partnership" and must be preceded by a business title and name of the company you're associated with. CEO or founder is preferable.

    B) An "old friend" and must be preceded by clarification on why she is friends with this person without a business title. "Middle school debate partner/classmate/etc. etc." or "high school boyfriend" or "ex fiancee" or "college roommate" acceptable.

No first-name only basis, or just plain old "friends" allowed. Because she doesn't have any true friends.

    ReplyDelete
  88. So, Im obvs behind. Mary is NOT leaving, correct?

    ReplyDelete
  89. I really think Mary is leaving.

The proof (as noted above): http://twitter.com/morethanmary

    http://www.morethanmary.com

    which redirects to NonSociety.

Bitchface Julia Allison Baugher drunk dialed SXSW and broke the news early, probably in hopes of stealing some of Mary's thunder. Who knows how conscious or how drunk Jackles was -- but she did it to fuck over Mary. Thus the silence.

Clearly Mary is not ready to launch her venture, so the momentum deflates now that we all know about it and are waiting for something.

Those are my guesses. I am not a fan of these tards (and i loathe GOOP), but jeepers, MarMar is the least hateful. She beats Meghan b/c Meghanaise is enabling Jackles to continue foisting herself on the internets.

It's weird that people here don't seem to get that and think that MarMar has true fans here. No! My enemy's enemy is my friend is at work here, people!

  95. From previous commenter: "julia, if you are reading, this is why other women tire of your antics...you do a half-assed job that insults the intelligence of the rest of us."

Absolutely. I think that's why I hang around. I was brought up to believe that you can't get ahead by doing a lazy, near-enough-is-good-enough job. Julia, unfortunately, challenges this notion, thus my world-view is thrown into chaos.

The small failures of Bravo pulling out, NS doing worse and worse, Mary leaving and TMI being used as filler for a cable channel, however, means that my world is slowly righting itself again.

    Phew!

(PS - I do feel horrible wishing failure on someone. If Julia were to be sincere and put genuine effort into her work I would be happy to witness her success.)

  96. There is an awesome article about narcissism (and narcissistic personality disorder) on Slate today at http://www.slate.com/id/2213740/?wpisrc=eDialog.

I usually hate to get involved with the psycho-babble attempts to classify Our Lady of the Pink Light Bulbs ... but this is too good.

One of the best bits refers to the disorder as "a failure of character development." It also describes them as having a "feeling the rules don't apply to them," "unapologetically late to almost everything, and can treat employees with disdain" and having "the belief others are instruments for the narcissist's use."

    Too awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  100. the header is most def. wrong and the look needs some tweaking, but i actually like the daily posts. it's her way of acting as her own producer, controlling the content and keeping things on a schedule.

the lack of control/production is one of the things that we (or at least I) hate about NS. This is a better method for keeping things moving forward and not sucking up the joint with unfulfilled promises.

Maybe it'll suck. But for the pure sake of escaping Julia for the win, I hope it doesn't.

  106. anon 8:58 I lived there for 4 years. In a million+ home...not even 6 blocks away. Is Hollywood shitty, yes by default. Is it a lame place to live, not really if you're young. Is Mary in the hood? HHAHA no. I don't think you know the area very well, or you're a snob. It's a shitty block, not a bad neighborhood. She's like 3 blocks from the Whole Foods and all the nice houses on Fountain bt Fairfax & La Cienaga and walking distance to Runyun etc. Oops, guess I don't know the area that well...

And as titalating as this convo has been, ttfn.

  107. oh and PS. Speidi from the Hills live 4 blocks over...guess they live in the ghetto too. They should rename the show...

  108. Did I call it the ghetto? No, I just said it's kind of a rundown, not particularly nice neighborhood. Which is true. I'm sorry that hurts your feelings. If you think Speidi is living in the lap of luxury, you're obviously a very clear-thinking person anyway.

  109. Oh, and if you think six blocks is close in LA, you may have lived here, but you obviously didn't LIVE HERE.

  110. whatever, you win. you are LA. no one knows LA like you. I mean, I didn't even LIVE THERE.

I just think it's a dumb thing to judge her for, but I guess you know better.
