Rambo: Liberated!

That's right, Rambo has quit Nonsociety, says Jackles, taking a break from her Long Island University cheerleading practice at SXSW (she's a lifter, not a liftee).

But she's sticking with TMI Weekly. So let me get this straight -- she doesn't want to blog with this lunatic any longer -- remember when she was asking for suggestions for a new blog name ... makes sense now -- but she's still going to appear in those ridiculous TMI Weekly segments in which Jackles brays like an attention-starved, game-playing donkey and lies through her teeth about everything from recipes to the number of men in her life who have absolutely no emotional control over her.

  1. I think Mary is "with" TMI until they tape the number of episodes their contract held them to. Why else would they cram in taping six or eight episodes a day? Of course, I am not holding my breath waiting for a clear explanation from these asshats who put everything "out there" except for the one thing people actually want to know about.

  2. I'm with James. I think they taped about 15 episodes in a week and a half so they have enough to turn over to NBC. Then that's it. TMI is a sub product of NS. I don't understand how or why she'd leave one and not the other, given that TMI is probably ten times more stressful and less enjoyable.

  5. ps--also explains the huge individual photo shoot she recently had in NC

  6. Also explains why Krystal is going to Denmark or wherever with them. Bleh. She's going to be 10 times worse than Mary.

  7. the first rat deserts the sinking ship. lovely.

  8. I know of only one person who would actually CRITICIZE Mary for leaving NS. 5:53 sounds suspiciously like her.

  9. MR's content was much better prior to the NS venture. She's obviously spent from doing all the sales work, posting on her blog, and filming TMI. *insert eye rolles* . However, I have to believe that she knows her content was better in the past and that the NS venture is weighing her down.

  10. come on, why go there?
i personally would prefer some confirmation from the girl itself - what else is this blog good for?

    ReplyDelete
  11. go mary, go! run as fast as you can!

this is the best decision mary has made in a long time. i'll admit she's been growing on me over the last several weeks. good luck, mary!

i actually hope she finds success wherever she goes (as long as it's far, far away from LIU Jill!)...

  12. Anon 5:50: You're probably correct.Krystal is the next one aboard.

Who thinks MR will work with Adrien in the future? I do!

EEK! i know this isn't on topic but it's pure gold.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Total Jing: That would work with Adrien/Mary; they have fun together; Mary is respectful of his lovely "wife", that vivacious little singer, but ... can Mary afford to stay in New York?
Now ... if Meghan would join forces with 1938Media. Game, set, match!

    ReplyDelete
  15. this can't be true. could it? you would think NS would have the good sense to do damage control ASAP after this landed on valleywag (if not before, of course). it's PR 101.

JA: "Mary has decided to take time off from blogging to pursue other interests, but will remain an active contributor to TMI blah, blah, blah..."

MR: "I want to thank Julia and Meghan for being so amazing and supportive. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to share my life with our fans and be a part of this amazing community, but I have decided to seek a career in media and think that focusing on TMI is the right transition for me blah, blah, blah..."

  16. brilliant, 6.10! the two people next to her look like they wish they were somewhere else and sinister looking text girl in the back is probably texting her friends about this shrill head band sporting obnoxious wasted presence.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Anon 6:14 : But this is totally Julia's M.O.! She's anti-pr and has recently restated this on her blog and twitter. Her micro-non-celebrity is the product of bad PR. Disaster = pageviews. What she fails to realize is that bad pr=no advertising money/sponsorship in the long run.

    ReplyDelete
  18. anon 6.14: that's what i thought, too. also, how uncool is it to the report basically saying: oh well, julia was drunk and spilled the beans, so there you go. not helping with trying to look professional.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Anon 6:14: Julia shoots her mouth off to impress people with no care for the consequences. She was getting drunk to show that Digg doofus what a fun party girl she is but still has to show-off with her higher authority at NS and then act like a total idiot drunken college girl (because it's cute!!). It's all attention seeking behaviour. Mary isn't even a factor in this. If it's true, it was Mary's story to tell, not Jack-assles. Seriously, JABa is a skanky selfish pathetic hag. There, I said it. She just disgusts me at certain points.

  23. Meanwhile, the princess of nobody cares twits that her pink headband matched David Karp's tie last night. Wowie! The NS investors/advertisers/ sponsors sure are getting quality content for their dollars!
And speaking of which, I hate tumblr!

    ReplyDelete
  24. anon 6:14: it looks like their strategy might be to completely ignore the "rumor". what kind of legit business would not address a material rumor? i think it is critical to comment on rumors that 1/3 of the "company" is going to quit, even if it is to deny them.

looks like they are going to their tried-and-true strategy: "ignore and it will eventually go away." or they can go all CES/Davos on us and promise lots of coverage next week (and pray for a nationwide internet outage).

this never was an actual business. they certainly don't act/react like anything resembling a real business. maybe harvard business school should take her on as a research case study (the consequences of having no business plan, no work ethic and no discenable talent on a start-up business).

    ReplyDelete
  25. discenable = discernable **grumble**

  26. Mary escapes. I'm no fan of any of the trio but honestly, good for her. JA is toxic.

I hope Mary has a career on TV. I don't think creating her own content is for her. Her ideas are too uninformed and controversial and are from a very limited perspective. She's has nothing to offer in my opinion in terms of style and fashion either and I find her advice in any category useless. Whoa I didn't mean to turn this into a bashing Mary session, actually the opposite.

I think she'd do well hosting some show or something like that, some gig where she doesn't contribute to the content but makes small talk and jokes around. If she does create content again I hope she has a devoted and amazing editor.

I didn't mean to sound so bitchy in this one. Good luck Mary. Assuming you're really leaving, you made a good move. Now finish TMI and be free of JA for good.

  28. Watch this video of Julia hawking for Zappos. http://zappos.tv/video/julia-allison-Box-Break
Nice of her to tell her readers that their suggestions would be used for a commercial. She is so fucked up. Watch the video if you can handle it. The faces she makes are cringe worthy.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Rambo has a future in mid-level market broadcasting. She is not ready for prime time, but i think she'd be great in Texas, California or Conneticut (places she spends time). She is not ready for NYC or bigger markets, but that is still respectable. Rambo -- be realistic here and you won't flub it. You are a woman of some quality, tenacity and brains. Don't squander this chance at freedom.

  30. Total Jing -- MY EYES! MY EYES!

Her face is fucking awful! She used to be a pretty girl, circa 2004. Her face is a shambles.

Women in their 20s should just leave their faces ALONE! LEAVE IT ALONE.

    ReplyDelete
  31. the fake phony faces she makes in the zappos video make me embarassed for everyone involved. she is so desperate. bad call, zappos. you should have given her free shoes to stay far away from your company. ick.

  32. From MR on twitter:
"Welcome to Twitter @bruxrock I'll be in LA beginning of April. You up for a hike?"

Before you say this means that she's also not filming anymore TMI episodes, I'll remind you that JA and MA will be in Europe. That's why so much is pretaped but, I submit, she may be done after Jill drunken slip.

  34. From an interview with Jackles on HuffPo, posted today:

JBA: What is Julia Allison going to be doing in five years?

Julia: "Well, I will hopefully be engaged or married...[laughs] eventually I will have a boyfriend at some point. I will hopefully have a television show, and then I'm hoping to become the next Oprah. It's a really dangerous thing to say "I think," so I wanna become a mini-Oprah.

JBA: It is rumored you are leaving Time Out. Is that true?

Julia: I have loved being a dating columnist, but Carrie Bradshaw 2.0 is played out. I think I am columned out right now. My last two things for Time Out are going to be really big. I'm going to be doing 24 dates in 24 hours, and it's going to be a shit show.

Julia: So that's the other thing that NonSociety does specifically. We take the [standard] click-through ad sales and tweak it so it's much more personal -- going out to companies that we actually believe in genuinely and giving them product endorsements. That's a little bit different than the average celebrity endorsement. Obviously we're not, ya know, Jennifer Aniston.

JBA: I know you said you're not on the same level as Jennifer Aniston, but you said it would be a celebrity endorsement, seriously?

Julia: Yeah, so to a certain extent it's because we are well-known in this certain set. For example, I mean we get about 800,000 [the Google Trends for Websites tool revealed this number is closer to 80,000] uniques a month on NonSociety. (HAHAHAHAHA!!!)

  36. or they mayb agreed for jill to spill it? after all, there are worse places to get the word out than this "conference" the purpose of which still escapes me. at least there valleywag picked up on it. maybe they chose the band aid strategy: rip it off quick and (almost, thanks for lying, MOM) painless.

WTF is NEW about someone with a platform going to a company and offered an endorsement for some form of payment: product, publicity, or $$$$.

I won't even begin to address the traffic stats or use of "celebrity," b/c I just fucking can't...

  40. Toolia providing product endorsement? Hahaha.
Any company that is crazy enough to sign her up better put some kind of morality/behavior clause in their contract with her. She is unpredictable - the last thing any company needs from a spokesmodel or "celeb" endorser.

Remember how offended readers of NS were when they suddenly started posting porn on their CES trip?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Bojankles (love the name!)...Yes, from soccer mom to stripper. And Jill is everything in between, as well. That's her shtick. That's why her costume is a headband with some kind of cheerleading garb. In her mind, she's a G-Rated Porn Star.

    ReplyDelete
  42. i love that her stalker obsession with Rose is in the first paragraph of that article!

Total Jing: thanks for the name complement! i cant bear to change it even though we're going with jackles now.

i just can't imagine zappos.com has many customers who would see that ad and say "yes, i DO need some g-rated porn star heels."

This hag is delusional! First of all, I'm no fan of SATC (I thoroughly blame that shitshow for bringing LIU Jill and countless other vapid cows like her to NYC, thinking that life here is drinking dopey drinks and dancing on tables), but Carrie Bradshaw was a thoughtful and deep person, and an interesting writer. She didn't create columns out of patchwork of readers' experiences and words.

She's all columned out? She never did any work! Blegging for content isn't work.

  48. I lost my respect for Zappos. When she kept namedropping them I hoped it was one sided because I actually liked the company but I question the judgment of anyone who utilizes Julia Allison for their business, so much so that my entire view of them has now changed. And I like shoes.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I used to be a Zappos enthusiast because of the free returns, instant delivery and product selection. The problem is that other companies are now offering those services, carrying the same products, and selling at lower prices (Zappos marks UP UP UP and hardly ever has sales).

Sorry, that was a brief Zappos tirade. I've been anti-zappos for months and now I have another reason to add to my list!

  51. from Mary's blog:

Did The Botox Kill My Sense of Humor?

I’ll admit to not enjoying Will Ferrell movies, but I don’t find these web shows funny…at all. Am I missing something? Did the botox eat up part of my brain? Any and all explanation would be helpful. Thanks.

    The five web shows are:
    Childrens’ Hospital
    Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog
    The Guild
    Onion News Network
    You Suck at Photoshop

Kind of love Rambo making fun of herself.

    -----
Oh God, the FIRST thing she mentions is engaged/married. Honestly, Julia is just killing time until she gets hitched to a rich man. Here's a hint, Jules... Rich men like one of two types of women: (1) The super-hot 24 year olds with bangin' bodies (2) The super-accomplished 30-somethings. You are neither.

I see a dentist from New Jersey in your future. You dumb, fat elitest fuck. You're still the same pathetic girl from Indiana U.

  56. I for one am shocked I have to say at the incredibly underwhelming post through which this blog has chosen to deliver this particular information. I would have expected much more, certainly a picture at least. As this news is ABSOLUTELY HUGE IN RBNS LAND - NO? I mean I have been reading here for a few weeks now and does not this move of Mary's go right to the heart of what this site is all about? Especially given its overwhelming pro-Mary enthusiasms.

So this is the beginning of the end - no? With a whimper and not a bang. And no NS no RBNS - so I guess its bittersweet. Maybe its just something too painful to face at this time.

My guess for Mary. Political pundit for CNBC, or perhaps married to like ... Dennis Rodman. That guys still got some fuck-you money left. Maybe even both, within like ... five years. Totally man.

  58. GO MARY!!!!

She is about to finally be herself not some weirdo scripted role that Julia Allison painted her into, that people resented. I think Mary's going to produce some really, fun, candid, quality content that will last the test of time, not be a fly by night web attentionwhore.

Six months from now when you look at what Mary has been free to become-- and really worked to produce-- my prediction will be proven right.

Kudos to her for having the character and backbone to stand up for herself.
