Julia: Interesting Look

I'm no fashion expert, but I'm thinking Jackles's dress here doesn't quite work.

  3. Oh. Dear. The hair! I'm blind!

Why is Jules appearing anywhere with Jumbo Twiggy and Pregnant Cher?

  4. That tweed thing reminds me of a rolling carry-on suitcase I once had...

  6. Julia now this will spoil your dinner Julia as the Queen Alien in Alien..

  7. Is Meghan pregnant? Why is she wearing a shirt from Pea in a Pod??

  8. I have, like, negative photoshop skills ... but can someone pull a side by side collage of photos between Julia a year ago and Julia now? The depreciation in her looks is simply mind-blowing.

  9. Why does Jowlia have rotisserie chickens strapped to her upper arms? Is she planning on having a midnight snack while she crazytweets tonight?

  10. Now we know what happened to all the weight valerie bertinelli lost!

  11. Julia is by no means fat or overweight, but her looks are SHOT TO HELL. She has NO muscle tone and her skin looks absolutely terrible. Hey kids: just say no to juice cleanses, manic all nighters, sitting on your ass indulging an internet addiction and cupcakes!

    ReplyDelete
  12. see the difference?

    http://julia.nonsociety.com/main.php?search=noah+kalina

agreed. she is not fat, but she is out of shape and abusing her body.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I am in no position to call the girl fat, but I can damn sure sit here and swig vodka, smoke Parliments, and eat pizza, and call that outfit the most unflattering thing I've run into since my stepmother moved to Florida.

Christ. Her ass looks like the back of a Tonka truck. She reminds me of those cakes people would make where the doll is sticking out of the top of the cake and it's supposed to be a frosting covered dress.

    ReplyDelete
  14. she needs to accept the fact that she's gained a little weight and stop wearing things she wore 10lbs ago. it's just not working for her. she could easily look a few pounds lighter if she dressed appropriately for her figure. ie. no more sleeveless tops and high waisted skirts...

    ReplyDelete
  15. Well, it's also partly that she's wearing that skirt in an effort to conceal everything...but it's making her look like she's got a lot more to conceal than she does. When you look at the larger size shot on Flickr, she actually doesn't look so enormous. But man, from far away it looks AWFUL.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Is Krystal even wearing a skirt? It looks more like a really long, shapeless shirt.

    ReplyDelete
  17. The question is; Is Jackles keeping the Baby?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Omg, those arms... those arms.
    I'm going to have nightmares.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Is that Ann Coulter's anorexic sister with Julia or some two-but streetwalker they found down by the pier under the Denmark sun? Just curious, is Julia hiding something in her skirt? A leg of lamb? Some gallons of juice cleanse? The Holland Tunnel?

    ReplyDelete
  20. *I don't usually everycritique bodies. I'm critiquing the tank top float dresses she can't stop wearing.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oops, I meant two-bit streetwalker. The two-butt streetwalker could only apply to Julia in that ratty skirt.

    ReplyDelete
  22. this is seriously getting pathetic. Carry on!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Wait...why has no one told the BEEP BEEP BEEP joke about Jowlia walking backwards yet? It's comedy GOLD!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Perhaps Julia Allison is working the Oprah "How did I get to 200 lbs." angle.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yoolia is wearing her little mermaid tube under her dress! Sponsorship: DISNEY!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Wow. I mean, I've sat here and bashed with the rest of you but these body comments are seriously hurting my feelings because my body isn't that different from hers. I'm not defending Julia and I know you all say "well if she makes her looks a topic then so will we" (which is a fair enough point - to an extent), but seriously wtf is up with the pile on over her weight? So maybe she's gained 10 lbs, big freaking whoop. To make all these endless jokes about her weight says a lot about all of you. Honestly, as much as I despise her, I could never say things like that about anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Whoever mentioned Julia's Alien-esque mullet-do is dead on. She must've ordered a batch of those "Bump-It's" to pin into her Alien mullet every day for that nice bump at the bottom. Maybe she stores cupcakes up in there?

    ReplyDelete
  28. The new TMI is atrocious - I wonder whose idea it was?

    ReplyDelete
  29. 3:21

Frankly, I'd love to be shaped like Julia...it's the dress...and most of the commenters have said it's the dress OR that fact she just looks so tired/haggard.

    ReplyDelete
  30. The audience looks bored as hell. I like all of the crossed arms. Where is this being held, a random bar? Krystal Burger absolutely looks like a tranny go go dancer.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Anon 3:21, I think most of us here are not saying Julia Allison is fat (and if they are that's their choice) but just pointing out how much she abuses her body and how shockingly her looks have changed after just a year. Yeah - many of us probably weigh as much or more than Julia, but we're not posting countless pictures of ourselves online, pretending to be a celebrity or make money on our looks. People pass judgement on Oprah or any other celebrity or public figure too - it's just that this forum is dedicated to passing judgement on Julia - someone who has chosen to be a public figure.

agreed, i can't really body-snark in good conscience...just had my third kid so you can imagine what my body looks like. however, smokey cupcakes, your comment about pregnant cher and jumbo twiggy is comedy gold!!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Anon 3:21 here again --

Oprah: oh I see, so saying things like "Perhaps Julia Allison is working the Oprah "How did I get to 200 lbs." angle." is not calling her fat, right? And the gist of that comment has to do with how much her looks have changed in the past year?

Pardon me if this does not compute.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hey, I've put on almost ten pounds this past year myself. Like Julia, I'm lazy and don't like to workout and I'd rather sit around hoovering cupcakes and feeding my internet addiction.
BUT, however right or wrong it may be, if she wants to be some sort of "celeb" with her pics strewn everywhere online, people do have the right to comment on her looks online, unfortunately.
How many weight jokes has her idol Oprah had to endure over the years? How many jokes/comments about her looks has Paris Hilton had to get??
    Par for the course.

I don't agree with the body-snarking either, but people ARE going to do it, whether it's right or wrong.
So in Julia's case, you either have to grow a thick skin or you step away from the public platform, case closed.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Just because we "can" do it doesn't mean we "should." We're better than this, ladies!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Anon 3:33

That's such bullshit - you're acting like because some people choose a public life, other people have no choice but to make comments about their looks. Yes, I agree it comes with the territory. I just wish we were all better than that here. But I guess that's too much to ask for.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Dirty Lake MichiganApril 2, 2009 at 3:35 PM

I seriously don't think the bashing is so much about her weight. Again, I'm not a frequent commenter but I LOVE coming here as you are all quite witty. As someone who doesn't give a flying fvck what this girl does, her mental illness doesn't affect me or my consumerism in any way... it's that trainwreck phenomena. (I feel a bit guilty about that, a person's demise should kind of be private) I'm not in my 20's, nor my 30's so I've pretty much accepted what a body does as time goes on. Add a few kids and such in there and really, substance and values have come in REALLY handy! Anyway, I do agree on her change over the past year. Really, who cares about weight, etc. Truly, this girl is damaging herself and it is very much expressing itself physically. She doesn't look bad to me as laughable, she truly looks bad as in it should be worrisome. She's a YOUNG woman!!! The girl needs a solid 8 hour sleep every night, fresh water, fresh fruit, some vegetables, a glass of red wine every now and then, a 20 minute or so brisk walk everyday, a hobby, and a period of deep reflection. She'd probably be luminous. See, that's what happens as you get older. Looks aren't just 'there' anymore. You can't count on them like you did in your teens and 20's after consuming slim-jims and cosmos for dinner. You need to work on them from the inside out. Wrinkles happen, weight happens, grey happens... that's life.
As funny as this is, I can't help but think she is truly self-destructing and the saddest part of all is she. just. doesn't. get. it.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The new TMI is just more of Julia going ON AND ON AND ON about stalking (oops, I mean "still being friends with" her exes (and wanting to meet the new girlfriends? CREEPY!!!)

The disgusted, disbelieving looks on Mary and Meghan's faces at the beginning are priceless. You can tell they think Julia is a complete bozo and aren't afraid of being caught on camera letting everyone know.

There is also an amusing part toward the end where Julia attempts to start a story and Meghan keeps talking. Then Julia brings it up AGAIN that she is upset her exes new girlfriend asked him not to speak to her. My god she is incredibly creepy.

    ReplyDelete
  39. 3:35, i completely get where you're coming from and i don't agree with the fat comments either. but let's just be honest, this is a site dedicated to talking shit. no one here is "above" anything.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The new video is bad, but the intro is HILARIOUS. It's a truly real moment and for once, I am laughing with them.

    ReplyDelete
  41. 3:35... better than WHAT? We (and YOU) are spending time on a website devoted to tearing down another person. The bitchy body snarking is just par for the course and people here have the freedom to say whatever horrible things they want. If you don't like it, don't read it, but please get off your high horse of trying to tell other commenters what to say or think. Raising the discourse here is a game you will never win and that is what I like best about this place - commenters can say whatever crazy ass shit they want to.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Oh man, just look at Mary's face the entire time. Their thoughts are written across their faces clear as day as Julia talks. Mary KNOWS why those new gfs feel that way about Julia but knows if she clues Julia in, she'll never get it.

BTW, we should really start up a new thread for every new TMI episode. It'll give some consistency to the blog and let us rail our comments out since we cannot on the TMI website itself.

    ReplyDelete
  43. chescaleigh -- good to know. I actually am "above" snarking on other people's looks so I guess I've just had enough of reading comments from so many of you who aren't. Ciao.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Julia is wearing some super-unflattering outfits and as a public figure whose major draw card is/was her looks, I feel like her looks are up for discussion. No, she's not a huge fattie but she definitely has let things go quite a bit and for someone who sells themselves on Sexy! this is pretty major. Bout the same as when Christina Aguilera poufed up a few years back - it was so at odds with her public image that had been relentlessly promoted (toned, sexy) that is was shocking.

Anyway, this conference certainly was hijacked by the Dumb and Dumberer tag-alongs - I didn't see their names in the promotion blurb about Julia appearing at the conference.

Latest Twitter from the Pnatie Thief, tiny violin plays:

  45. 3:41, that's your prerogative. peace!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Once you break-up with someone and they move on... you should do the same. You weren't friends, you were hang-out buddies who SLEPT TOGETHER. It's a territory issue. It's not hard to understand why a new gf wouldn't want an ex, especially one as loony as JA, hanging with her new man.

...Then again... my current man whom I'm planning to marry hung out a couple times with his recent ex, and I was so completely secure in my relationship with him that it didn't matter to me. I knew he loved me, he knew I loved him, so no worries. Perhaps women who aren't feeling secure in their relationship for whatever reason are the only ones who would freak about this kind of stuff. Or... they know how fucking psychotic their man's ex is and knows she'll throw all her cleavage at their man to get his biological interest once more.

Also... everyone is different. Look at each experience on a case-by-case basis. That's one of the biggest lessons I've learned in life, and one Julia tends to forget as she tries over and over again to lump everything into neat categories.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Raising the discourse here is a game you will never win

That's because anybody who had anything intelligent and non-body snarking to say left a long time ago. This is what's left. It didn't start off that way.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Interesting that Julia just "happens" to mention her travel schedule right after someone said she has nothing else lined up after Denmark in the previous thread. Yes Julia: keep up the manic travel schedule. It's doing wonders for your health and your appearance! She doesn't need a three week nap - she needs a year long break from being a self-styled web celebrity. Julia has gained absolutely nothing from it. It's sort of pointless to go to speaking engagements to talk about how you are a web celebrity when you are really a has been, no?

    ReplyDelete
  49. poor anon 3:40 so lonely for intelligent discussion that you hang here 24/7 looking for some..hahahahahahah

    ReplyDelete
  50. 3:49, just to be clear, i'm not ok with calling julia fat. and generally speaking, i try not to talk about other people's weight because i wouldn't want them to talk about mine. but i can't really understand why "body-snarking" is any worse than all the other snarking that goes on here? if you could explain i'd really appreciate it. this is a completely honest question, no sarcasm at all.

  51. Anon 349, Who the fuck cares how RBNS "used to be?" Oh, how we wistfully look back on those days when thoughtful people had intelligent, caring things to say and earnest guidance for their business. Bull shit. I've been here from the beginning and this place has been what it's always been - a place to rip on Julia Allison. Commenters can say whatever the hell they want and that's the best thing about RBNS - you get the good with the bad. I don't care what stupid shit gets posted here and I don't care if the "intelligent" people left a long time ago. You're still here...

    @Dirty Lake Michigan

    Well said.

I was against the body-snarking at first but now I am sort of on board with it because her "company," and "career," are exclusievly about her looks.

She *really* thought that posing in front of things and looking pretty would make her f-you money. She *really* thinks that being cute is enough to bring to present at a tech conference.

There are people who make f-you money with their looks alone, in modeling or television. And those people take care of their looks at any cost. My weight has probably fluctuated in the exact range that JA's does (120-140). I do occasional public speaking and TV. When I am in my eat whatever I damn well please, sleep late, and don't go to yoga or swim phase, I'm sure as hell not expecting the TV people to come begging or that everyone around me will react to my presence as though I'm a supermodel.

If she was trying to be innovative or entertaining, or creative, or providing content of any kind, I'd disapprove of the body snark.

But this is a girl trying to get by on her looks.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Anon 349
Not really. The people who have good or funny disocurse just don't jump in on the conversations that are purely ripping on her looks. We just sit those ones out. No big deal really.

Some thread will again get funny. Or smart about the web. Or about celebrity. Or media. Hang in there. Or don't. Whatever.

    ReplyDelete
  54. chescaleigh: you seriously need someone to explain to you the difference between talking shit about someone's looks vs. talking shit about the fact they are a shitty person who does shitty things to other people? Interesting that you place those things on the same level.

    ReplyDelete
  55. last time i checked, talking shit is talking shit. regardless of the topic. they're both mean.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Okay, so that new TMI episode was more WTF to me. Looks like the ladies are having to rely on yet another tired and recycled idea left over from a SatC re-run once again.

    ReplyDelete
  57. OMG PLEASE STFU about the low brow level of discussion! Jesus, nobody cares! If you need some kind of oh-so-above-it kind of intellectual intercourse then WHY are you hanging out on a SNARK SITE??? You are the idiot, not us. WE know what this site is about.

I don't care if girl weighs 900 lbs, that dress is fug and does nothing for her. If that sentiment offends your sensibilities then get thee to a kinder website that doesn't upset you.

It's the internet, not America's Next Top Sensitive Comments.

    PS: Bet you're fat.

    ReplyDelete
  58. partypants, i think i love you.

you said that waaay better than i ever could. amen amen.

    ReplyDelete
  59. the interesting thing about this dress is not that she looks fat (which, come on folks, the girl is NOT fat!), but that, for someone who says she can't be photographed wearing the same thing more than once, she's worn this hideous thing like 10,000 times. among them, to the vagina man's bday party and like one week before that to some event at soho house. what's the matter, julia? did your free dresses dry up? or is it that you don't fit into sample sizes anymore? oh wait, i wasn't supposed to call her fat. oops. still, she's not fat. just not a size 2/4 anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I'm with chescaleigh on this one. We are not "above" snarking on anything JA-related here on what is essentially a JA-related shit-talking site. It's all about talking shit around here.
So how about some of you just save your self-righteousness for a site that gives a shit?

    ReplyDelete
  61. It's obvious that Julia's no longer a size 2/4, yet she still dresses like she is. Which, ironically enough, makes her look bigger.
    You do the math.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Julia's body is a lot like Mariah Carey's: both are very curvy, but NOT FAT, yet both women dress about several sizes two small in unflattering little tight outfits.
When will such women realize that it doesn't matter if you can squeeze your ass into clothes of a small size if your ass ends up looking like stuffed sausage in such clothes?

PS. I'm fucking fat. There, I said it. But I know how to dress to flatter my figure without delusionally trying to pour myself into small sizes.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I'm down with this being an open snark forum, but it is getting repetitive around these parts. I heard somewhere that blogs dissecting media personalities shouldn't say anything more than three times.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I liken it to the pictures of Jessica Simpson in mom jeans. She's not fat either, but GOOD LORD did you see those pics? That was NOT a good shape on her.

Put Jowly in a lovely red a-line wrap dress and style her hair differently, and none of us would be having this discussion, am I right???

    ReplyDelete
  65. Why, Partypants, are you talking about this red wrap dress, also worn approximately 1,439 times by Our Lady of Bobby Pin Mullets?

    http://julia.nonsociety.com/post/78704384-0-0

Fashion tip: DO NOT accessorize with a younger, hotter intern.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Eh, I'd say it's more bad camera angles than bad outfit. The first one is from an angle that isn't flattering on anyone's arms - or chin (automatic Facebook untag). And most people look "fat" when photographed from that distance - the fact that Krystal and Meghan look average is testament to that.

Seriously dudes. I'm a 27-year-old size 4 (which is probably about the same as Julia these days, so maybe I'm "fat" too), eat well, run 5 days a week, do yoga, and I'd look equally crap from those angles.

Like I said: untag, untag, untag.

    ReplyDelete
  67. It's not just the new girlfriend in every instance. When a guy avoids you like the plague and then says "ohhhhh, yeah. well, ummm my girlfriend says no" - Its a blow off. People know better than to get into the never ending discussion with her of WHY they no longer want anything to do with her. But I guess its cool to have someone to blame.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Also, one year ago, "unapproved" photos of Julia weren't going public this often. She still looks good in most of the ones she approves.

    ReplyDelete
  69. panty thief, yes, I don't care if she's worn it before. She's worn this one before too. Why not at least cycle the FLATTERING outfits???

I don't even condemn her for saying "blah blah I can only be seen in something once etc". Times are tough all over. The crap she said a year ago don't applicate now, childrens.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Most people would just untag an unflattering picture and move on. But Julia Baugher is not most people. She will probably screech to have these pictures taken down from that flickr account as she finds out about them (remember the unflattering birthday party photos?) but they are posted here and they will stay here. Julia has MAJOR control issues and has repeatedly tried to scrub the internet of every unflattering bit about her (remember Charlsie?) and I seriously believe this site - a place where she CANNOT control her image - has led to her unraveling health, mental state and appearance.

    ReplyDelete
  71. So where did Paul the Jules MAth wacko go?

    ReplyDelete
  72. Fat, unfunny loserApril 2, 2009 at 4:44 PM

Paul probably left when all the other intelligent, witty, thoughtful commenters left - you know, before the discourse went from Snark Defcon 3 to Snark Defcon 1 (because all snark is not created equal). Now all that's left are us losers! Pass the cleanse juice and raise a toast!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Anon @ 4:25, Julia admitted recently to putting on some weight (she claims 10 pds, which probably means 25, at least), so we can cut the b.s. that she's still a 4. If she ever was one after junior high.

I'm about the same height as Julia and my weight has to be quite a bit lower than the weight she claims to be when she is allegedly a size 2 or 4 - and I don't have the flab that she has, because I actually work out with weights (I don't make some pretend yoga poses for the camera, to impress some married dork). I also have a more balanced shape and am not a pear, as she is.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I think the body issues are raised because we're dealing with a carefully cultivated simulacrum. Julia hasn't presented herself as a human being but as a strategic image, a product of narcissism and cunning. Body snark is one thing, but I think what we're seeing here is the breakdown of all that meticulous image-control, the manufactured emotions, the contrived fashion, the array of material goods that she thinks defines her. Watching her bloat and age is like watching a painting out of Dorian Gray. Because she's an image herself, watching her gradual breakdown, physically, is like watching bad karma manifest.

  79. If Julia's going to dedicate an episode of her show to juice cleansing, and tell people that she gets the Blueprint Cleanse *for free*, then a matter-of-fact analysis of her weight and how she looks is actually relevant. It isn't just snarking, she's raising real questions about the sort of lifestyle she advocates.

Julia's content for NonSociety isn't really about living "differently", it's about showing the world how "fabulously" Julia herself lives. It's all about the image. She herself has said it's about "presentation and perception".

If a real celebrity (and let's face it, Julia wants to be one) did the kind of blatant plugging for Blueprint that Julia's done, and then posted a video at 3am or something saying she's suffering with insomnia and she's put on weight...well the they'd get snarked on just as much and deservedly so. If I had a teenage girl who was looking at Julia pretending how! happy! she was, and said teenage girl said she wanted to try the same cleanse Julia had, I'd despair.

    ReplyDelete
  80. So, she's getting pudgy. That doesn't diminish her charming personality, wide-ranging intellect, and her good heart.

I bow down. Barcelona, you should be out presenting to international conferences!

    ReplyDelete
  89. Judging by her arms, Julia's body is no longer detoxing, but holding on to everything she consumes. When we don't give our bodies enough proper, balanced nutrition, they switch into famine mode and store everything, our metabolism slows and we put on weight. She's not just doing damage to herself now, but abusing her body like this (and when she had bulima) will negatively impact her health (and weight) for years to come.

  90. Anon @ 10:11, it's not that she's in starvation mode, but that she's eating too many cupcakes and not enough carrots.

  91. @Dyspeptic Thanks!

It would be interesting to give a "Deconstructing Julia" talk for every one of her "Pink Is My Business Model" talks, and see which one gets the better attendance.

I'm not saying she's starving herself, just that her body thinks there is a famine because she is not putting anything of nutritional value into her body. Juices provide only a small percentage of total nutrition.

Julia thinks the "juice fast" is going to undo all her cupcake eating, but what it is actually doing is telling her body there's not enough food, so her body holds on to every bit of energy it can get and stores it, in case things get worse. The Juice Diet is actually making things worse.

The rippling/dimpling effect we can see in her arms is the unhealthy trans fats and sugars being stored in her body fat. This is also called cellulite.

She needs to eat more than just carrots and juice to become healthy again. She needs a total diet overhaul.

No two ways about it, homefry has ruined her looks, her health and her body in a very short amount of time.
