Poofy: Then and now

Oh, hi! Here's a little fun game I like to play.

Poofy when she is skinny. Vs. Poofy when she eat too many cupcakes and pretend she is Carrie 2.0 (minus the metabolism).

Before:

After::

There is this ab exercise, Poofy. You touch your toes to your arms 15 times while you're lying on your back. Three sets. It burns. Do it.

  1. The real problem is that she still thinks she looks like that.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Well, at least she looked like that at one point. The extra poundage is not an issue, it's the queer posing and the injections or whatevs. Sometimes I think she looks amazing, other times she looks quite freaky to me.

    ReplyDelete
  3. She's fat. Two words: Jenny Craig.

    LOSE THE WEIGHT, POOFY!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Also, she is fat now.

    And poofy.

    Poor Poofy.

    ReplyDelete
  5. A little baby-fat on a girl with curves is attractive; a chemically induced poofy face pumped with filler and a wonky eye is not attractive. Most men like a girl that uses soap and water, not paint and powder.

  6. guys I really dislike who she is and what she stands for but this is silly and mean.

  7. she might be a horrible person, but wow she was pretty hot!

    ReplyDelete
  8. and i don't think she's fat (at all!) now...

    ReplyDelete
  9. i've always liked the blog but calling a girl who is at most a 6 size fat and telling her to diet is crossing the line. telling a bulimic struggling with her weight fat when the average woman size is 12 is just cruel.

Maybe you all are tall svelte Mary/Meghan types but some of us aren't so lucky.

    ReplyDelete
  10. There are so many valid things that you can say about her, so let's leave her weight out of it. Not to mention that her current body is well within the healthy standards. Stick to the things that are really a problem.

And Russian Girl, you are by far the unfunniest contributor to this site. By the by, are you natface.tumblr?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Natface is so much cooler than Russian Girl! She's a feminist and I don't think she'd bother with this tripe. Totally cosign with the other people saying this is bullshit though.

I don't want to hear anymore that she brings up her looks so it's relevant. That still makes no sense at all and comes off like weak justification because you just want to be catty about someone's weight. It's BORING and it's UNFUNNY. Those are everyone's least favorite things.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Erin--I think Russian Girl is often quite funny, but I agree, this post is just rather dumb and mean spirited. And, dare I say, crossing the line?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I agree -- it's the logical conclusion to look at that photo and think, "wow, there's no way her body is that hot anymore" but someone's weight is such an easy thing to poke at.

Perhaps a post on the fact that all she's posted today were iPhone pictures of things that she's not even in, like her gate at O'Hare, the backseat of a car, and a restaurant.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Do you think that we would snark on her for withholding sex from all of these guys if she still looked like that and didn't dress like a mid-century housewife? Cause like, holy crap, I'm a GIRL and I am amazed at how good she looks in that picture.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Daddy has good taste in lingerie. Anyway, the point is that Julia has traded on her looks for years. That's her approach to the world, and if she starts looking like shit from cupcakes and botox, well, I'm sure she'd like everyone to keep quiet about it, but tough noogies, kid. Give us a better reason to pay attention to you than the Blue Steel Freeze and nobody will give a shit about you packing on the pounds.

    ReplyDelete
  17. No, that doesn't actually make any sense. It is mockable that she has traded on her looks, it is just sad and pathetic to mock her looks themselves.

She doesn't have to "give us a better reason to pay attention to" her, we're already paying attention to her for the actual shitty things she DOES. That's what's interesting, that's what a joke, not how she looked then or now.

  25. Seriously, picking on her for her weight is so not the way to go. I thought that RBNS contributors had agreed that not to post this sort of ridiculous stuff anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  26. i am so bored of people complaining about comments/posts related to julia's weight.

if you don't like it, don't read it! and if you're really that sensitive about your weight, you probably shouldn't be on a snark blog.

and i am not sorry if you're offended.

    ReplyDelete
  27. From trainwrecks, March 17:

'RBNS posters in a tizzy ... (Fun distraction at least from average comment thread: “Julia is fat.” “Why are you making fun of that?” “STFU SHE PUTS HER LOOKS OUT THERE SO THEY ARE FAIR GAME RAMBLES JANKLES MEGHANAISE.”)'

    Sound familiar?

    ReplyDelete
  28. I don't think she is overweight or anything, but I really don't like how she dresses 99% of the time.

    ReplyDelete
  29. daaamn. julia looks hot in that first picture.
but i don't think she's fat now AT ALL. i just don't think she knows how to dress for her new figure. the camera really does add 10lbs. in real life i'm sure she's still tiny.

    ReplyDelete
  30. If I had Julia's body in the first picture, I wouldn't even wear clothes.

Also, to everyone pulling the "omgggg you sensitive whiners, this is a SNARK blog" - I think you are misinformed.

I like RBNS just as much as the next person, but I think it's fair to say we crossed the line from snark to hate a long time ago. When people are posting murderous fan fiction, I think it's time to call a spade a spade.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Anon 2:06 a.m. - " It is mockable that she has traded on her looks." Really?? Because I'd say doing lingerie-clad photo shoots is pretty much trading on your looks.

On a hate blog, everything is fair game. If you don't like it, don't read it. Please take your self righteous scolding over to Jezebel where it belongs.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Julia Allison is not fat, but she has ruined her face and given it an unhealthy bloated look due to shoddy cosmetic injections. Plus she has NO muscle tone from living a pretty much sedentary lifestyle. (and no ... flying, blogging, flying, blogging is not an "active" lifestyle)

Most women put on weight as the approach 30 and start modifying their lifestyle accordingly. She still lives, sleeps and eats like she's in college. If she doesn't make some lifestyle adjustments (get more normal sleep, more REAL exercise, etc.) and continues at the clip she's on now, she WILL be fat in another year.

    ReplyDelete
  33. the first photo is a nice PHOTO. it's a good angle, she starved herself for that shoot, tons of make-up, etc.

Not saying anything about her body, here! All I'm saying is that it is a nice photo and I'm sure Julia has got that one on instant-access on her desktop, joonowatimeen?!

Look, it's all about angles and lighting and you all know...sure, she has some nice genetics going into it, but come on...it's a good pic! woo hoo!

now, i also agree it's not fair to do this to her. i wish this thread could be taken down because i think it's an embarrassment. MY OPINION.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I've never seen Julia as overweight, I don't think I ever could unless she somehow balloons up with an extra 70+ lbs. That said, it's pretty obvious that she isn't at all happy with how she's looking now (as someone mentioned the overdone easter pics) given that she's been posting lots of old photos and OBJECTS. Very rare, we've seen an egomaniac's blog go from vanity shots every other post to actual things and other people. What gets me is that she knew what her appeal was and she wasn't making any effort to supplement that - only to make it look like she was and wanted to be known for the "other" things. She can cake on the makeup, shoot up botox and drink Blueprint all she wants; aging is inescapable and all that youth preservation starts to look obvious as one becomes entrenched in it. Supposedly she has all these long conversations with creative people, supposedly she reads all these great books by innovators and attends conferences hearing them speak, but where is the evidence of that? All we ever see is her trying to reveal/conceal what's truly important to her: her appearance and how other people see her. With every passing day I feel more sorry for her. Though I do find people with crises of identity fascinating, she needs to get help.

    ReplyDelete
  35. She IS attractive still, but you can't see past the makeup, botox, and crazy getups to see it. If she is going to base her appeal on her looks then she needs to decide what she wants those looks to be in ten years: Diane Lane, or Charo.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Cosign with 8:43. It's not just her, I noticed that I was packing on some lbs when I wasn't taking care of myself, and I'm not even close to Julia's age. It just always made more sense to me to figure out the natural ways to get that balance and develop a routine before that slump even hit. If you aren't doing it when you're young, able and have more energy, how do you think that will play in when you get older, have more responsibilities and less time, and your metabolism is working against you? The problem is that everything she does is vanity-driven. She wants to maintain the appearance she had at the height of her exposure, but as with everything else, isn't willing to put in the work for it. It's easy when you can eat when you want and not worry where it's going (or are regurgitating it), not so much when your body gives you the finger due to years of abuse. I don't think she can stop it though because she's always trying to keep up the "successful" appearance. She can't ever take a day off from being Julia Allison. Nothing worse than being the star of a trainwrecky reality show you aren't even getting paid for. She has the stress of an actual celebrity without the fame, adulation or money.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Julia Baugher could capitalize on her freakish looks, but she doesn't have the wit, smarts or talent to do it. Look at Dolly Parton: she has a crazy over-the-top style but has a razor sharp wit and the ability to laugh at herself along with everyone else. Dolly also has outrageous talent and a keen business sense to back it up. Julia wants all the positives - fame, adulation, money, respect from her peers - but does not posses an ounce of the talent, hard work, thick skin or guts it takes to get there.

    ReplyDelete
  38. She wants to use her looks to get ahead, but she's too lazy to do the work to keep up those looks. *That's* what's worth laughing at, not a few measly extra pounds.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Very, very true.

She's kind of ridiculous in saying her parents didn't help her aside from the $10K grad gift (WTF?! nothing to J. Baugher!) and her college education (which some people had to work and pay for, ahole). What of the nose job, the veneers, the years of coddling instead of forcing her to buckle down and learn to work for something? At the end of the day her insistence that she's gotten where she has (not sure why she'd be so proud of this, either) being all her own doing is not only laughable, but gross.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh and her parents didn't have to give her too much postgrad, since she spent the rest of her life finding "daddy figures" to cover many, many expenses. Blah.

    ReplyDelete
  41. SO true, anon 9:25. It's the same story as with all of Julia's ventures -- she want's the easy road to the top and doesn't know how to work hard. This is a woman who shows up two hours late to meetings ... work ethic is not even on her radar. Julia wants everything to come easy to her, including her looks. That's why she uses shortcuts like Botox, juice fasts, bulimia, etc. Working out, modifying your lifestyle and overhauling your diet is much more difficult than a quick fix.

    ReplyDelete
  42. But guys... my parents REALLY haven't given me anything... I AM TELLING THE TRUTH! Well, except for a $10,000 graduation gift and a six-figure college education. And all of my living expenses during college. But really everyone, I am soooo independent! Who cares that I then went straight from graduation to living with various sugar daddies who lavished me with trips, jewelry and paid my rent. But really... I am soooo independent! I had freelance jobs! Real jobs! I made $50 a week. As long as dad said I was pulling in some money, he'd help me out with a little gift of $10,000 - chump change, really. I have no credit card debt! Want to know how you, too, can have no credit card debt? Just swindle everything for free! Return gifts in exchange for credit or gift cards. BAM! Expenses taken care of. And really guys, I have never paid my rent late! How many people can say that?! And how many people can say that they have a granny to send them some inheritance money every month, shhhh! Don't tell anyone! I repaid her with my deep gratitude by getting a tattoo of her favorite saying on my wrist - let it unfold. As in... let those large bills unfold into my grubby little hands. Thanks, grandma!

  44. Showed it to three men. All three said she looks slutty hot but she's not a pretty face. One said she looks like she has wide hips hidden by the angle. All three said they wouldn't date her.

Picking on Julia's weight is a low blow but happens because to her, other people's perception of her being "hot" is her deepest wish of all.

I always thought she was unattractive because the complete package is not there.

This may be the most perceptive comment of the week. It's almost enough to make me feel sorry for Julia Allison. Almost.

"Nothing worse than being the star of a trainwrecky reality show you aren't even getting paid for. She has the stress of an actual celebrity without the fame, adulation or money."

    ReplyDelete
  46. Making fun of Julia's weight is offensive in the same way that it's offensive when InTouch publishes a montage of celebrity cellulite on the cover. That is to say, it's low brow and salacious, and it appeals to people's basest instincts. The content reveals much more about the author than the subject.

Melissa sue, responding to critcism of a weight-related post by accusing detractors of being fat themselves is the kind of logic that is only taken seriously by bitchy thirteen year old girls. It's just lame and reactionary.

This blog is kind of sad.

    ReplyDelete
  47. If a dude thinks Julia's hips are wide in that top pick, they're probably a douchebag who enjoys humping bags of antlers.

    ReplyDelete
  48. RBNS has never claimed to be anything more than lowbrow and salacious.

    ReplyDelete
  49. When she has made a name for herself based on her looks, then her looks become fair game.

Be honest, people. Would she have gotten so much attention on Gawker if she had been plain and pudgy (a couple of years ago)? What about that Star gig? Would they have paid her in the low 6-figures if she weren't attractive?

On another note: Did her father buy the bra and panty set that she's sporting in the top photo?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Dayum, she was FINE back then!!
I'd forgotten how gorgeous she used to be. With a body to die for. But the irony is, she probably barely ate a damned thing back then. It seriously looks like she doesn't have an ounce of fat to spare on that body.

Therefore I shall now refer that era in which her looks had truly peaked as

    Julia BC: Before Cupcakes

She was on TV back then and was gunning for the reality deal at that time though. She HAD to keep her body at its prime. It makes sense that her looks started to go downhill when all those former opportunities did too.

Someone once compared her to Edie Sedgwick, and she does somewhat fit that profile in terms of how just like Edie in 1965-early '66, she was at the top of her looks and career, just like Julia was in late 2007-early '08. And then in just a mere year, Edie's looks, opportunities and everything else disappeared thanks to her drug addiction. I suppose the same could be said of Julia and the current Blueprint Cleanse/cupcake addiction.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Anonymous 11:00, that's a good point, you're right.

Duh, of course Gawker paid her attention because she was hot. Hot people get more attention, they earn more money, they get more breaks. That's why it's awesome to be good looking, and why it's so difficult to discern whether you're being strategic with your god-given gifts, or you're exploiting yourself in an ultimately destructive way.

Julia is a clever, attractive girl who has been done a huge disservice by a combination of over-indulgent parents, unusually good looks, and just enough smarts to build her brand without enough self-awareness to know better.

After reading this blog for a couple months, I finally understand what it's about and who, more or less, is behind it. The whole impetus behind RBNS makes me feel sad and empty, especially because some of the people here are good writers and could be doing, you know, actual work instead of spewing vitriol on a daily basis.

There are honorable, pure, lovely, excellent things to think about. There are things worthy of praise. It takes more effort to find and appreciate what is commendable, but it feels so much better than screaming at someone anonymously on the internet.

    ReplyDelete
  52. On what planet are her hips in the top pic "wide"? I'd fuck the shit out of a body like that! After taping her mouth shut.

    ReplyDelete
  53. The most frustrating thing about that top photo is that she got that body without working out. That's not a body sculpted by work out sessions or weight training. That was just her natural figure.

I don't think the juicing or fasting had a thing to do with her weight gain. Julia doesn't strike me as the type to stick to anything long term if it means depriving herself. Sure she maybe drank the juices and fasted once or twice, but I don't think she ever did it enough to have such an adverse affect on her body.

I think her weight gain came from simple laziness and a poor diet. She didn't appreciate what she had when she had it.

    ReplyDelete
  54. "That was just her natural figure."

If by natural you mean throwing up every solid nutrient that enters your mouth in order to have that figure, then yes, totally natural.

  57. 8:23 am: either your reading comprehension is nil or you have the attention span of a gnat. If you had bothered to do more than glance at that piece and immediately characterize it as "murderous fan fiction," you might have recognized that 1) neither murder, accident nor suicide was concluded, 2) it was the first part of a longer story, and 3)it was pure satire. And, having the attention span of a gnat, you doubtless never revisted the Long Island University Branding post to see these follow-up comments after the offending item was removed:

I am the person who wrote the "suicide" post, which actually was not a suicide post. The continuation of the story has the narrator discovering that the death is neither accident, suicide nor murder; is an elaborate hoax engineered by the Nadia character and her various powerful (old and new) media connections for the purpose of stirring up controversy, increasing traffic and disseminating her brand. An elaborate hoax, much like her life. And much like the life, at least as she puts it out there, of a existing person, I often suspect. In addition, the narrator is seriously exploring the notion of responsibility and guilt in relation to the influence of internet content on real life, and vice versa.

I do not hate Julia; I merely find her ridiculous, and I have enjoyed coming here to read the clever ridicule she inspires. But I have noticed, as the story reflected, that there are plenty of people here who truly do hate her and pull no punches in stating this, or even addressing her directly to tell her they hate her, that she is a bitch, a cunt, a whore, etc. I find it amazing that someone (7:17) can say, "you do realize the suicide fanfic makes you look crazier than julia, right? and i say this as someone who really fucking hates julia," as if that stance represents some kind of moral superiority. Well, nothing like a lowbrow on a high horse to put things into proper perspective.

Bravo 12:14. I'm not really surprised as I didn't read into it that way. I just couldn't jump to the conclusion that ANYONE would dislike her to THAT degree, (seriously) writing something depicting her suicide. It had to be more than that and if one had actually read it, it was pretty clear. IDK, maybe I'm different. She's an idiot and a user, but I don't think anyone, anonymous or otherwise, would be gunning for her death or even truly imagining it.

  61. Of course - you gain weight when you're happy! I got up to 142 when I dated Alex. I'm 122 now. She was 142 when she dated Alex? That sounds off to me. She probably fibbed a bit to try and prove her point. If she was 142 when she was with Alex aka Mr. Big, then she'd be about 150 now. I don't think she ever went above 130 before now.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Um, 2:43 -- you're saying we should emulate Julia? We're safe doing something because Julia does it? That tooooootally makes sense.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Anon @ 3:01, she's at least 150 now. I'm approximately the same height that she is, have a similar build (neither of us is a waif, but I'm not pear-shaped, as she is), workout steadily (have been doing so for years) and at around 130, I'm in my best shape.

That flabby, cupcake-inhaling mess is NOT 130. Maybe if she had a tiny bone structure and no natural curves, she'd be 130 when over her ideal weight.

    ReplyDelete
  64. The amusing thing is that she is reading this and probably LOVING all the praise of her BC body. I mean, it's probably making her feel really good. And that's just f***ed up, considering she doesn't look a thing like that now, and won't ever again.
