Julia: Continuing To Churn Out The A-Game Content

Dolphin! and … rain.

(Me: “Great captions, eh?” Rachel: “That’s why they pay you the big bucks.”)

I find it so strange that even her friend seems to be onto her refusal to provide content. It's worrisome! But why take it so seriously? It's only her livelihood, after all! Have a nice day! XO.

  1. I'm starting to think this might be just a cunning strategy to bore the haters to death. It surely is beginning to work in my case. Once we're all gone, she'll start firing away the A-game content she has been saving up for all these weeks.
Also, she either took her inspiration for this caption from the brilliant anonymous comment of yesterday or that person truly captured the workings of her feeble mind.

I think it's more like she's mortified how badly she got her ass spanked on disclosure, and more accurately how humiliated she is that now her Manhattan circle is aware that she's sunk so low she'll now shill for Sea World. She's embarrassed and can't think of anything to blog from there and what will or won't cause her further humiliation. She's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't, as someone pointed out yesterday.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I really thinks she truly believes she is just THAT great to get paid to just "show up" like she said in her "disclosure" post. Feeble mind indeed.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I agree with slanky. If she gives us nothing to make fun of she probably figures we will go away.

She's refusing to feed the trolls, I guess.

  5. It's funnier if you pretend 'Rachel' refers to the dolphin.

  6. GOOD MORNING BUNNIES!!!! I bet you are wondering why I am up early this morning. Well, I will tell you: I got a super prestigious consulting gig and was invited to Sea World, my most favorite place on the entire earth. It is sooooo awesome!!!!

Check it out at seaworld.com and enter the code "egoblogger" in the discount section when you get tickets to get a discount and get me a kickback! No really! It is awesome you guys, and I am not even being paid to say that!!!! NO REALLY!!!! I SWEAR!!!!!

Let me explain very clearly: I have sponsorship deals that I am paid for to show up for because I need to be paid for my time and I would write about them honestly whether I was paid or not and I am not being paid by IZEA or Sea World except for in value transfer and also a check and I only said I would go if I could bring a friend and I don't know what the big deal is, I promise I will give a disclosure on my first official post and it's just a fairly common press junket so I don't see what the big deal is and I was once sponsored by Dunkin Donuts. And I hate Ireland. CAN I BE ANY MORE CLEAR?!?!?!

Geez, I don't understand why those losers at Gawker get their panties all in a wad. I am a journalist ... it's so STRANGE. Why can't they just let me do what I love to do - WRITE - and leave me alone??? They are probably just jealous that they were not invited to Sea World. It really is WORRISOME how jealous everyone is of me. I can't help it that I get paid to show up places and lifecast and share my awesome pictures and captions and experiences with the world!!!!

Anywhoo, I better go and get ready for my consulting talk with Tom Murton the CFO of Idea.net or something like that. I really hope he's perused my blog recently and saw all the new pictures I posted of me with celebrities!!! I am soooo in demand folks! It's not just anyone that gets their photo made with Chamillionaire or Sir Richard Branson!!!!

XOXOXOX BUNNIES!!!! HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!!!

  7. UGH this moderating sucks. Damn you trolls.

  8. When Gawker IMed her and asked her about IZEA's official disclosure policy Julia replied:

"Was planning to disclose on my first "official" Sea World post tomorrow when I am actually there."

STILL WAITING FOR THAT TO HAPPEN, JULIA.

  9. FGE, yes, I agree that she is probably overwhelmed with anxiety now that the curtain's been pulled back and her big business has been exposed as what can arguably called payola-type-shilling for amusement parks. The content she does produce is awful. Her new Izea boss had to come to her defense on Gawker before she even got there. The whole thing that essentially got RBNS together -- "How are they paying for things?" -- has finally blown up in her face, and at the very moment she is starting a new professional relationship. Her vanity doomed her. Someone noted her profile has been taken down from the Izea homepage.

  10. Please, Baugher, write something. We need a post to rally the troops over here. It's been a rough week for everyone.

  11. "tedmurphyGoing to ride manta at #seaworld in a few minutes! Omg I am excited! http://twitpic.com/5mc1l1 minute ago from Tweetie "

I just found a new jackass to hate.

    ReplyDelete
  12. So this is how it's going to be from now on, huh? At least twelve minutes between writing it and getting it published? The fun with this site was the immediacy ... so someone needs to get her act together if she is going to moderate this site. Or get more than one moderator. What will we do if Julia tweets something epic and we can't get through on here?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Moderator approval is sad but perhaps necessary. Especially because this website was starting to get 100+ comments on every single weekday post, I feel like it's really going to stunt the momentum it was gaining. :(

Anon: This is a hobby blog. No one is getting paid to run it. Some asshole with an ax to grind is trying to shut it down by outing the people behind it in the nastiest and most immoral of ways. Direct your wrath towards that person ... not hard to figure out who it is ... and cut RBNS some slack for a couple of days while things calm down.

    ReplyDelete
  15. FGE: Who is it? Hint? I totally missed all the drama and am still trying to fill in the blanks.

    ReplyDelete
  16. FGE: And the sad thing is it isn't even a JA supporter. It's just some pathetic, lonely loser with imaginary enemies.

    ReplyDelete
  17. According to Ted Murphy himself this -> http://izeafest.com/ is going to be the biggest social media event of the year!!
And guess where it's being held? You're so clever! SeaWorld!

    ReplyDelete
  18. PP, Ted Murphy is the CEO of IZEA and the one who came to Julia's defense in the Gawker comments on her story. He seems like just as big of a jackass as she is. Wonder what they discussed at the "consulting" gig last night after her picture and blog link were mysteriously erased from their homepage.

And yeah - Julia has really fucked herself over. If she writes nothing, it will be more par for the course shitty nonblogging. If she writes about how much fun she's having, she will be accused of being a cheap, bottom feeding shill, and rightly so.

Besides adding a link to the IZEA ethics policy (amending her post AFTER it went up) she has disclosed absolutely nothing about her affiliation with Sea World or IZEA - probably because it's supremely embarrassing for her to be outed to her New York media "friends" as being a pay for bray blogger and - more importantly - not being up front about it. For fancying herself as a new media pioneer, she really has sunk to the bottom rung.

(And after commenting anon here for a while, I finally picked a handle and a sign in. That's commitment!)

    ReplyDelete
  19. FGE hit the nail on the head. She's really dug her own grave with the Sea World trip. Had she been direct about her "consultant" position with Izea and how it is linked to the Sea World trip, she may have been able to spin it more positively. We would have all had a good laugh on her for going from WIRED to 3rd rate pay-to-post hire but I doubt Gawker would have paid the whole thing any mind.

    ReplyDelete
  20. GOOD MORNING BITCHES!

I bet you missed the trolling, so here I am for the Daily Queef! I know all of your names and addresses, and where your mom went to school, so don't mess with me! Jacy is just mad because her vagina looks like two pancakes hanging from a clothesline. Total Jing is just mad because her face looks like a pizza, if a wolverine chewed up a pizza and then threw it up and a bear then peed on it.

JEALOUS.HATERZ. Talk to the hand bitchessssss

    ReplyDelete
  21. Also, I am curious about the removal of her picture from the Izea website. I wonder if Julia was supposed to provide a link to Izea, or a mention, on each post. I think that's a rather excessive policy but perhaps? Maybe they did a little research after the Gawker post and found some information that didn't please them all too much.

Seriously, do these companies not check out Alexa.com? Do they not research the "reach" of the bloggers they are hiring? JA's reach is at an all time low and has plummeted over the past four months.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Ah, I can picture it. Julia and Ted dining while Shamu is bubbling less than three feet away. She herself bubbling over with ideas and pitching her revolutionary ideas of stretching and massaging the truth while he's all ears, his eyes straight on her cleavage. In a way IZEA and Julia are a match made in heaven.

  23. Julia: "This is Cece the Manatee, who was rescued. They eat 8 hrs a day. They weigh bt 800 - 1200 lbs. They cannot survive in cold water because they don’t have a blubber layer!"

Guys she is plagiarizing again! I know I read this someplace before! Oh I know my 7 year old nephew's book report for science class.

  25. This is the end for Julia Allison. She has been exposed.

Julia Allison Baugher HATES IRISH PEOPLE.

  26. Okay you goddamned weasels and shit-eating ferrets. Comment moderation off for now. But if any one of those goddamned snake-ass steer-fuckers shows up here again to spout off their cow-shittin' bullshit, I will kick their lardasses right back down their goddamned holes so fast they'll be shitting cactus for a week.

    ReplyDelete
  27. The Manatee eats eight hours a day but doesn't have a blubber layer. Jealous much, Julia? (Interesting that she would be drawn to those details).

  28. http://julia.nonsociety.com/lifecast/110967858-0-0

It was too much to ask for. the troweled on makeup and slutty mini skirts are back. And Julia is wearing the same Juicy hoodie that her friend wore yesterday. What is UP with Julia wearing the same clothes for like, multiple days in a row? She did it at foo camp, too. It's gross. And probably smelly. And probably not the best idea when you've been around fishy, smelly environs. Gag.

And it it just me, or does Julia and her plus one look rather... cozy?

    ReplyDelete
  29. No trip to Sea World is complete without the signature Bump Its, bobby pin and hairband 'do!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Panty thief: What's up with her face and the shape of her head? Apart from the make up I mean. And don't get me started on the yellow nails. Ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  31. She has been completely expunged from the Izea website. No longer one of the featured bloggers, and you get nothing when you search on her name.

Do you suppose she cut the ties because she was so embarrassed, or they did?

    ReplyDelete
  32. panty thief, gawd: next time, try to remember people can't unsee things.

    ReplyDelete
  33. P.S. I love how even the Manatee is hiding its face under lettuce from being photographed. They are very intelligent, did you know?

    ReplyDelete
  34. it's probably fucking blinded by all that yellow. Wtf is she supposed to be, a Sunshine Allison Doll?

  35. Jacy are you kids going to Tweet of Mantyness her current lineup? Seriously sister is turning into a Wildlife Preservation brochure.

Florida is the sushine state. Julia is just dressing in theme, y'all! She is so ineffable and indefatigable and inquisitive and rambunctious and over-enthusiastic like that! YOU JUST DON'T GET IT!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. ironic slanket, Julia Allison's signature conehead shaped head is achieved through a very time consuming hair styling process involving teasing, bobby pins, a headband and -- most importantly -- the As Seen on TV product known as a BumpIt (bumpits.com) Usually reserved for use in weddings, beauty pageants and strip clubs, Julia fits this "hair helper" into her daily routine... even when she's schlepping around theme parks in the rain. Wouldn't want that manatee to see you with flat hair!! Frankly, I am surprised she didn't pack the wangs and clip in hair extensions for the trip.

  38. From the IZEA website:
Unlike traditional public relations, sponsored conversations are agreements between the advertiser and blogger. The blogger is provided compensation in exchange for exposure to their network. Advertisers pay based on a completed post.

  39. Julia's latest:

"This is Cece the Manatee, who was rescued. They eat 8 hrs a day. They weigh bt 800 - 1200 lbs. They cannot survive in cold water because they don’t have a blubber layer!"

Julia's blog is turning into something that my elementary school students would love to read. Animal facts!

In that case they'll be having a lot of free convos.

    http://socialspark.com/bloggers/julia-allison
It says she's 27 and a weekly columnist for TONY. (Little stale no?)

    ReplyDelete
  43. On the same site, NS has a profile:

It's a "Premium Blog" y'all. Check the stats.

  44. Remulak's Most Popular Blogger I guess she has her documentary crew stand on chairs and aim down for pics now. Congrats, Julia, you are officially now a 14 year old on myspace.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Um, she charges $517.57 PER POST?!!! OMGZ.

    ReplyDelete
  46. That Julia Allison bio is hilarious.
    - weekly columnist for Time Out New York - hmmm, not so much
    - founder of nonsociety.com - that's like saying you're the "founder" of picturesofmycatfluffykins.blogspot.com
    - writing credits are all OLD
    - her tags: blogging, shopping, entrepreneurship, music, writing, wine, dancing, speaking, commedy [sic]

    ReplyDelete
  47. Panty Thief-

She tots uses a BumpIT! You hit the nail on the head. She looks ridonkulous next to her relaxed, natural, normal looking friend. It's like she time travelled from 1964.

    ReplyDelete
  48. 10:50

Where do you get the $517 figure?

    ReplyDelete
  49. TJ: If you look at the NS profile page, it shows the rate.
    http://socialspark.com/blogs/julia-nonsociety-com

    ReplyDelete
  50. Ok no lie, I would sell my little sister into the circus to write one sentence and get 500 bucks in my bank account. Who did she fuck to get that job?

    ReplyDelete
  51. anon 10:50, in order to get paid, they must prominently post a badge on their website or post and I have yet to see that. That price was also probably based on old or made up page view numbers. You can see on their profile that viewership has been trending down.

    http://socialspark.com/code_of_ethics

I doubt Nonsociety or Julia Allison has made a dime off SocialSpark.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I see the $517 on spark. Thanks for the info. Also interesting is that Julia doesn't have pageview software installed for an accurate reading. Click on "pageviews" on the spark page. Also, Alexa rank is in NOSE DIVE.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Holy crap that SocialSpark place will let you buy a sponsored post on NS for $517. The price is the huge number in the middle of the page above the Alexa graph.

    UN. REAL. DOT. COM.

    ReplyDelete
  54. She definitely not getting paid that rate. As 10:57 notes, you have to post a badge per post.

Also, all the bio is just FULL of lies. Who does she think she's fooling?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Remember that time on 30 Rock where kenny is trying to fatten up jenna? "Here comes a plane! Zoomzoom! Then a guy in a turban gets up to use the bathroom and an air marshall starts shooting! zeeeerrrrCRASH"

Her alexa stats are sort of like that.

    ReplyDelete
  56. And Mary is on there too, with 0 page views and a jawdropping post rate of $15 bucks and change. (Wonder if she even signed up for this or someone else put her on there ... the link for her blog is still NS, hence the zero page views. Now that's passive aggressive!)
    http://socialspark.com/blogs/mary-nonsociety-com

    ReplyDelete
  57. Ya, on the NS profile page it does note that there are NO "approved" sponsored posts.

Keep trying Julia! Just click your heels together and say "Sea World" a few more times!

    ReplyDelete
  58. why does she have a WINE tag when she doesn't drink? a dancing tag when she can't dance? music? what? entrepreneurship? whaaaaaat?

also why does the furrowed brow she's sportin in that twitpic make me think she's furiously reading HERE on her IPHONE!!!!! heh

    ReplyDelete
  59. Oh, poor Meghanaisse. She and Julia still share the SAME site for cryin' out loud, but she only gets a paltry $15 bucks a post too. Wowsers.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Okay, Meghanaisse's bio is even more lala than Julia's:

    Technology diva and professional lifecaster
Asha is a commentator for Fox News, CBS, CW, and The Today Show. NonSociety will be Asha’s outlet to continue her passion and make the intricate, often mystifying world of technology more accessible to the public.

Sign me up!! Omgz ... there is no fact checking!

    ReplyDelete
  61. On the new TMI weekly (Meghan's site, which I haven't swung by in literally months), I'm going to call bullshit on reader email from "Ann Martin" mentioning a "45 minute talk" with her girlfriends... come on, Julia.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Am I the only one who thinks that this portal is the blog equivalent to SugarDaddy.com and the likes? Browse through their inventory, pick a blog, pay for a post, blogger puts out and you may or may not come back for more.
Good move they put the Nonsociety stats on the page as well.
I wonder how much of the money for sponsored posts actually ends up with the blogger and how much the pimp, pardon me, IZEA/social spark whatever gets to keep.

    ReplyDelete
  63. How funny is it that Julia Baugher has to hold a GIANT stuffed whale in front of her body to hide her own blubber?

    http://julia.nonsociety.com/lifecast/110772975-0-0

And yeah... totes a repressed lesbian.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Ann Martin = author of the Baby-sitter's Club book series. Nice try, Foolia.

    ReplyDelete
  65. "NonSociety will be Asha’s outlet to continue her passion and make the intricate, often mystifying world of technology more accessible to the public"

Talk about grammar issues! She definitely wrote that bio herself. Mary can't spell but Meghan is the absolute worst writer of the three.

    ReplyDelete
  66. People, instead of just linking to her egoblog, can you please copy (or screen cap) her posts, so that we don't give her any more page views than absolutely necessary? If she isn't doing so already, she's going to try to monetize page views, so let's not aid and abet that, OK?

    ReplyDelete
  67. Hmm. Also notable, Jackles has written more words (via twitter and NS) then she wrote on Davos/CES/Inaugeration combined.

    She's manically twitting seaworld shit.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I wonder if her outlet has served her, or anyone, in either of those respects. Hm. Oh yeah, she just finished reviewing the BLACKBERRY BOLD! Which er, came out in October or November. Sigh. Anyone else think they always focus on college-related topics because they're stuck there and are more confident "talking down" to their "audience" (read: impressionable young girls) than the women their ages who readily see through the bullshit and would expect much more out of them? Never mind the "college dating" episode interspersed with only in a woman's world ads that are clearly for the 30+ set. Dear oh dear.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Hi Julia. Still waiting for that gheeeeeey "Having a 'whale of a time'!" tweet.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Will do. You can screen cap her blog and post it to tinypic very easily - don't even need a sign in or account.

    ReplyDelete
  74. No. Not "That Girl Allison."

    ReplyDelete
  75. That Girl Allison is obsessed with Julia Allison. I find it worrisome, bunnies.
