Mary: Julia Is Trying Hard To "Change Her Ways"

Ooooh boy. Even though no one associated with RBNS has ever posted any comments of support on More Than Mary, Rambo was kind enough to respond to our impostor's comment. Italics are mine. Very nice, Rambo!

I hear what you're saying and of course I really appreciate your support. Although, I wish you would give Julia a chance. She is trying very hard to change her ways and her heart has ALWAYS been in the right place. We've had our fights, and major disagreements, we still do. But at the end of the day, she will always be my friend.

  1. She isn't trying nearly hard enough until she she books it into therapy. For real.

  2. Julia doesn't have to "change her ways". She is fine as is. Mary Rambin is an asshole.

  3. @GAT: Awwww! How sweet of you to comment on our little site Grammie Baugher. Can I get you some tea or perhaps a shawl?

    ReplyDelete
  4. If Julia's the one trying to change her ways and Mary's just announcing it how does it make her the asshole? She's fine as she is? Yike, I seriously, seriously hope these postings are all in jest, Gal About Town. You're starting to frighten me.

  5. Not as much as your fat ass frightens me.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Gal About Town: I find it strange that you would say something like that. Don't take it all so seriously! Have a great day! XO

    ReplyDelete
  7. I'm 120 lbs and 5'7, I'm afraid you'll have to do waaaay better than that. But seriously - you're on a JA/NS snark site? Odd. STRANGE, even.

  9. I think GAT (lol) is projecting. I mean really. DID YOUR PARENTS NOT HUG YOU ENOUGH AS A CHILD? ;) Lighten up. Have a nice day! :)

  10. More like gnat.

  11. Anyhow, if one of my friends announced on my behalf I was trying to change my ways, I would be pretty pissed - unless I asked her to do this.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Grammie Baugher - new commenter name!

I don't know why you're all being so mean to my little Julsie Wulsie. Would it help if I bought you each a $500 sun lounger?

  13. I'm hungry.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Julia's already announced it on her own though. Albeit not in this fashion Mary did, which is another way of saying "she sucks, we know, she's trying to change... maybe" I for one had to LOL. It's kind of like "BLESS HER HEART"

    ReplyDelete
  15. bless her heart

    ReplyDelete
  16. Julia's tweet: "Part of me loves getting self-righteous people riled up. It's a terrible habit, it really is. But ...errr... why am I grinning right now? ;)
7:14 PM May 17th from web"

NOT HARD TO FIGURE OUT WHO "GAL ABOUT TOWN" IS

    ReplyDelete
  17. Bless her heart is what you say about really sweet mentally retarded people.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Is "Who Is Gal About Town" a new game? I prefer Jenga or Candyland actually.

  19. Ok pardon me, I'm having a moment. TSAM is back on the link list! Aww!

  22. Oh and Girl About Town = Julia who just happens to be online right now.

Rambo, bless your heart, but JA is trying hard to change her ways? Really? Go read the litany of insanely defensive and snide comments she left for the TMI commenters. Or the Twittering of the very initial stages of a possible relationship with the Harvard guy. Or the blogging about how she just loves to stay in because there was a party she hadn't been invited to. Puh-leese. Every Tweet, every blog post, has some ulterior JA-aggrandizing motive. If you were a true friend, and perhaps you are, you should really be organizing an intervention and forcing her into therapy for her NPD.

  24. WHO IS "GAL ABOUT TOWN?" is a fun new game that anyone can play. It's like:

    - Jenga - watch her world come tumbling down
    - Candyland - watch as she hoovers up all the sugar she can get her hands on
    - Hungry Hungry Hippos - it's really fun to see this hippo chomp
    - Memory - try to match up all the poses. It's easy because they are all the same!
    - Scattegories - how may words can you think of that begin with the letter I?
    - Pictionary - Can you draw a famewhore?
    - Clue - granny in the study with the checkbook!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Rambo doesn't really think Julia is trying to change her ways. That was just her passive aggressive way of saying that she thinks Julia is a stupid bitch that believes in astrology. Mary might be stupid, but she is the queen of the sniper neg.

  28. New game which body part did Lilly lick before licking, kissing Julia?

    ReplyDelete
  29. 5:35 maybe her 800 pg new years resolutions, her spirituality moments, her endless self-help book quotes? I mean, that's all I got.

  30. http://gawker.com/5261628/julia-allison-shills-for-sea-world

AWESOME. Julia gets busted for resorting to blogging for dollars.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 5:44 lol hence 'bless her heart', she knows Julia will never change until she reaches a REAL rock bottom. That means NO enablers.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I wonder whose dick she sucked to get back on Gawker.

    ReplyDelete
  33. lol that this comes fresh on the heels of gawker posting the businessweek ftc thing and she still has completely FAILED to disclose her 'making money/getting product/trips for these posts' via izea MUCH like nonsociety nearly the whole time... amazingggg

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think Gawker's just trying to get her booted off Izea. Sad :(

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think Izea would really like to know that the person they are flying to Sea World tomorrow is not following their company ethics procedures.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Wow...That Gawker post is her death as a "journalist." She better stop throwing that title around. And if she doesn't stop, she'll leave herself open to more legal issues than she might already have on her hands.

    ReplyDelete
  37. She's above the rules, PEOPLE!!

    "Mandatory Disclosure

Every sponsored conversation facilitated directly by IZEA or through one of our services is required to have disclosure. Bloggers that do not disclose are not permitted to participate in any IZEA sponsored conversation and will be removed from our network."

    ReplyDelete
  38. That's what gotten her fired from all her jobs. Cosmo, TONY and all the other print publications were tired of dealing with her 5,000 words for a 500 word space etc.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Cue WAY PAST DUE disclosure (as if she didn't know from the beginning) in 5, 4, 3....

    ReplyDelete
  40. Back tracking and also borrowing from Mary's play book. Just sad.

Great news! I have no idea who the other bloggers are, but I guess I’ll find out soon. :)

Anyway, I called them back and said that it sounded like fun, and I would do it, but only if they let me bring a friend - and they paid me for my time. Like anything I’m paid for, I don’t promise anything other than to show up. If Sea World is lame, they’ll regret inviting me, because I’ll let you know! haha

Anyway, they said yes, I said yes, so Shamu? Get ready!

    ReplyDelete
  41. ooh, B-U-S-T-E-D busted!
bet you she gets Daddy Revenue to cover her ass legally.

    ReplyDelete
  42. TELL IZEA THAT ONE OF THEIR "FEATURED BLOGGERS" IS NOT FOLLOWING THEIR OWN ETHICS PROCEDURES HERE:

    http://support.izea.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=5422

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think even she would have rather gone without this mention. It once more exposes her as the cheap, ethically challenged (and not in an Alan Shore way) fraud she is. Come on, she whores out her blog as a Trojan horse for "sponsored conversations", the lowest form of marketing ever. Of course she can't bring herself to disclose her affiliation because she's not yet ready to admit that she's a cheap web 2.0 whore. Nothing more.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Julia's "disclosure" still says nothing about Izea. Fail. She should get booted from blogging for them.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Her backtrack post was 15 minutes after Gawker called her out. Manta media day was on her calendar and in her posts with no mention of sponsorship for nearly a week if not more. Silly, silly.

    ReplyDelete
  46. She's an asshole. Plain and simple. She's too embarrassed to admit that she's resorted to this, and just like with Blue Print lunch.com review, she is ashamed to have to shill/admit she gets things for free.

    ReplyDelete
  47. It's not "like anything she's paid for" because it's EXPLICITLY stated in their policy that reviews don't have to be favorable for compensation, while that's always been expected with ad sponsorships. Let's see if she can say the same about Caress, Axe, Degree or Only In A Woman's World. What a doofus.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I've asked this before, but shouldn't all these freebies she's getting count as income? Especially since she is self-employed. Wouldn't she have to claim gifts from Blueprint and some of her trips to the IRS?

If she does have to, does she? If not, has anyone called the IRS?

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think she doesn't admit it because she wants poeple to think these are natural recommendations not ads. Her stated goal ever since starting NS has been to make money by recommending things and talking things up that she was sure people would be into merely because she mentioned them. If she admits they're all essentially paid ads, it wouldn't have the same effect and would be ignored like most ads are. In other words she does not abide by journalistic ethics by any means and soon might not be abiding by blogger laws either, depending on future rulings. It definitely isn't ethical even if it may be legal for now. Most legitimate bloggers practice disclosure and transparency.

Here's a good post on it
    http://citymama.typepad.com/citymama/2009/05/the-ftc-wants-to-regulate-mommy-bloggers-.html

    ReplyDelete
  50. Wasn't her whole NS and personal branding schtick to get paid for her (likely favorable) endorsement of products that she liked? Because people valued her opinions, rather than things just being offered to her like this Sea World trip? I. die.

    ReplyDelete
  51. LOL 6:13 gmta :D

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm almost 100% sure you have to pay taxes on freebies. Remember a few years ago when celebs started forgoing gift bags at events because there was a big fuss about them having to pay taxes on the items they received and some of those gifts have high monetary values. Even if you're not a business I think you have to report it if it's over a certain amount. Don't quote me on it (ha ha quoteing anon) but I'm pretty sure.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Um. Julia just called me psychotic.

She made my day. If a crazy like her thinks I'm psycho, I must be doing something right.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Oh snap, reading now AJ. This should be hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Alana

She's way more psychotic than you darling.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Funny she "didn't have time to talk to you" when she found out who you were but had time for the inquiry into WHO you were. Sad :(

    ReplyDelete
  57. sofuckingbusted.com

Oh, Jankles, you stupid little twat. Did you really think you could get away with NOT disclosing that you were getting paid?

Poor wittle bunny, shilling for Sea World.

    ReplyDelete
  58. What about Lego Land?

    ReplyDelete
  59. Alana

Did she email you or is it posted somewhere. And you're so right being called psycho by JA is a compliment.

    ReplyDelete
  60. SM talked to her on ichat it's on her site

    ReplyDelete
  61. It was an ichat convo and it is posted on both Tumblr's.

@jacy: "It's worrisome" was my favorite part. She's SO SERIOUSLY HONESTLY AND TRULY NICE, PEOPLE! FOR REALZ!!!!

    It really is worrisome.

    ReplyDelete
  62. She had time to talk to the big people, but not Alana. To be fair though, Alana, you came across as really abrasive right away. I wouldn't want to chat with someone who attacked me like that either.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I'm finding it hard to believe she didn't know who Alana was, especially when Alana explained further. She continued to play dumb then decided "zomg she didn't have the time". She slams on Gawker all the time, has publicly taken glee in their losses and the closing of other mags/sites that "dissed her" and now she can sit down and talk to them? She didn't have a choice, she had to spin it because she looked like a complete moron.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I thought the whole point of her site was to eventually sell products by talking about them? So why is she being so shady...as far as I knew, this was her goal from the beginning. For someone who invented the term Fuck You Money, she sure has no idea what she is doing. This is low budget Fuck You Money, Julia! Except instead of "money" it's chips, entrapped orcas. and various forms of personal hygiene products. Success!!

    ReplyDelete
  65. 643
She still looks like a complete moron. Maybe even more of one after that chat, both chats actually.

    ReplyDelete
  66. And Mary was so right. Man is she trying to change her ways. Impressive.

    ReplyDelete
  67. 5:57 PM: Gawker doesn't care what Julia does, as long as they get page views.

Besides, Nick Denton has openly talked about how the success of Julia only increases the success of Gawker since they "made" her. Denton REALLY wanted Jules to get that Bravo reality TV show because it would have been a major pageview drive for Gawker.

The only person who fucks things up for Julia Allison is Julia Allison.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I sort of think Gawker is having a little fun with her downfall. Anything they post about her now publicly calls her out as a failure.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Same. She hasn't had a remotely positive post in forever and a day. I guess since they made her and she's turning out to be a total embarrassment, they're turning her into an altogether DIFFERENT kind of punching bag.

    ReplyDelete
  70. If this is true about having to pay taxes on free stuff, Mary has some paying to do, she states all the time how much free shit people send her.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Of course she had to know who Alana was. Rmemeber when Alana said JA had visited her site like some 400 times or something? And they had a long chat not that long ago. She KNOWS. Everything JA says and does is contrived, including the faux nonrecognition. So unconvincing.
